Role Overview

Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) is seeking an Impact & Insights Officer to help measure, understand, and communicate the impact of our global investments in independent media.

This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, monitoring & evaluation, and strategic insight. You will play a key role in transforming data into clear, compelling narratives that support decision-making, strengthen impact, and demonstrate value to donors, investors, and stakeholders.

We are recruiting to fill one position that will be based either in Berlin, Prague or EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance MDIF’s impact measurement framework and underlying data systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and visualize data across a global portfolio; develop dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Produce quarterly and annual impact reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Standardize data collection processes and ensure data quality across teams and partners.
  • Monitor sector trends and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Analyze communications and content performance; support storytelling through data.
  • Contribute to fundraising by providing data-driven insights and impact narratives.



Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in impact measurement, data analysis or monitoring and evaluation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public policy, data science, statistics, economics, political science or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Proficiency with data tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar).
  • Familiarity with MEL frameworks, survey tools, and analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics).
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Based in Prague, Berlin, or working remotely within European time zones.
  • Alignment with MDIF’s mission and interest in independent media.

Compensation

  • Full-time employment contract for candidates based in Prague or Berlin.
  • Competitive salary:
    • Prague: approximately CZK 70,000 gross/month
    • Berlin: approximately EUR 4,000 gross/month
  • For candidates based outside of Berlin and Prague but within Europe, compensation will be negotiated based on location and experience
