POSITION SUMMARY

The IKM Specialist plays a critical role in advancing MEDA’s organizational impact measurement, data integration, and knowledge generation agenda. The role supports the Director in operationalizing MEDA’s IKM strategy with a strong focus on data integration, organizational reporting, and knowledge product development. This includes ensuring MEDA’s data systems are streamlined to produce high-quality aggregate reports (including quarterly organizational performance reports and Balanced Scorecard outputs) and working collaboratively across teams to generate research and learning products that demonstrate MEDA’s contributions to agri-food systems, communities, and market systems. The position serves as a key connector between program teams, technical leads, IT, and leadership, ensuring that data, evidence, and learning are effectively translated into insights for decision-making, accountability, and external influence.

CURRENT PRIORITIES INCLUDE:

  • Updating and managing the organization’s Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in collaboration with leadership and functional teams.
  • Synthesizing data and evidence to articulate MEDA’s contributions to agri-food systems, inclusive market systems, and community-level impact in collaboration with program teams, Regional IKM leads, and Project Technical leads.

Salary Range: $65,300-72,550


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Impact Measurement & Data Integration - 30%

  • Support the Director in strengthening MEDA’s organization-wide impact measurement systems and frameworks
  • Develop and manage the organization’s measurement framework with key metrics in alignment with MEDA’s strategic plan and priorities
  • Coordinate integration and streamlining of MEDA databases (e.g., CRM, project systems, Power BI dashboards) to ensure consistency and efficiency in organizational reporting
  • Ensure availability of clean, validated, and harmonized datasets across regions and departments
  • Identify gaps in data systems and contribute to system improvements and upgrades
  • Support data governance, standardization, and metadata practices across MEDA

Organizational Reporting & Performance Management– 30%

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of quarterly organizational performance reports and annual results summaries
  • Manage and update the organization’s Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in collaboration with leadership and functional teams
  • Ensure reporting aligns with MEDA’s strategy, KPIs, and donor requirements
  • Develop dashboards and visualization tools to communicate performance insights clearly
  • Ensure data is translated into actionable insights for senior leadership and Board reporting

Knowledge Management, Research & Learning Products – 25%

  • Work alongside Technical Leads and project teams to develop high-quality research and knowledge products (case studies, learning briefs, synthesis reports, sector analyses)
  • Synthesize data and evidence to articulate MEDA’s contributions to agri-food systems, inclusive market systems, and community-level impact
  • Coordinate summative and ex-post evaluations for selected projects
  • Support development of thought leadership content aligned with MEDA’s strategic priorities
  • Ensure systematic capture of lessons learned and best practices across programs
  • Contribute to strengthening MEDA’s organizational evidence base and Theory of Change



Capacity Strengthening & Quality Assurance – 10%

  • Collaborate closely with Regional IKM leads, Technical Leads, IT, and Communications to ensure alignment of data, reporting, and knowledge outputs
  • Provide technical guidance and backstopping to project teams on data, reporting, and learning processes
  • Support quality assurance of data collection, analysis, and reporting outputs.
  • Contribute to building staff capacity in data use, reporting standards, and knowledge management practices
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and learning across the organization

Other Duties – 5%

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives led by the Director, IKM
  • Support coordination with external consultants where required (e.g., evaluations, research)

  • Undertake other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS


Education: Bachelor’s degree plus professional qualification in relevant field

Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in international development with experience in research and impact measurement practices

Technical Expertise: Experience in data integration and reporting, and expertise with data analytics software


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Experience in international/multi-country operations and donor funded environments
  • Understanding and appreciation of business principles and international development and MEDA’s approach of creating business solutions to poverty
  • Appreciation and support of MEDA’s faith statement, values and goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas
  • Ability and willingness for regular international travel to developing countries
