Acumen is looking for an Impact Manager with at least 8 years of experience to support the Associate Director of Impact and help the team design and implement Acumen Academy’s Theory of Change and Impact Framework. This role reports to the Associate Director of Impact who is based in London. Acumen operates under a hybrid work agreement; we are in the London office for a minimum of three days a week

About the Role
We are seeking someone with strong analytical skills and a proven track record in developing Theories of Change, Impact and Evidence and Measurement Frameworks. This will suit a self-starter who is able to operate/work independently, someone who is comfortable working with data and technology, who wants to learn and grow within an impact role

Accountabilities Include : 

1. Impact Framework Design and Implementation 

  • Support the AD of Academy Impact on the development of the Theory of Change (TOC), Logframes/logic models, and Impact Measurement plans for all projects (as outlined above) 
  • Support to the AD of Academy Impact on the development of the Academy Evidence and Measurement Framework
  • Lead in creating Indicator Tracking Tables and project dashboards for all projects to measure targets against actuals
  • Lead in ensuring all projects have SMART objectives and indicators
  • Lead in designing Impact Measurement/(Performance Management Plans) plans that include data flow and analysis plans (co-delivered with data team)

2. Data Collection & Validation

  • Overseeing all day to day data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation. This will involve engagement with regional leads and central teams. 
  • Develop. test  and validate data collection tools (quantitative, qualitative and quality assurance) in line with sector best practices 
  • Lead Foundry data integrity and cleaning plan in collaboration with regional data leads (governance tbc) to ensure we have high quality data to work with 
  • Develop with Data and Technology Lead, a new data flow map for the collection, extraction, analysis and reporting of qualitative data (and work with colleagues to create it using our data systems) 
  • Lead on carrying out annual Lives Impacted reporting 
  • Contribute towards systems innovation, development and improvement across all data collection activities. 

3. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Conduct target forecasting and reporting, flagging deviations to project leads
  • Deliver routine internal data reporting via Salesforce dashboards or similar 
  • Build capacity of other staff members on Impact measurement 
  • Ensure good collaboration with regional and non impact teams
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from a range of teams 
  • Maintain Impact issues log to contribute towards the improvement of impact management approaches at Acumen Academy 

4. Analysis & Insights Generation and Communication 

  • Perform comprehensive data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) to generate actionable insights
  • Create and deliver insights pieces for internal and external audiences (case studies, themed reviews, interviews)
  • Present learning and insights internally 
  • Communicate findings across the organization
  • Work closely with Data and Systems Lead, data teams and Operations team on data management and systems development.

5. Adaptive Management and Feedback Loops

  • Ensure data is used for internal decision making and programme improvement
  • Lead on After Action Reviews and internal learning activities 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • At least 8 years of experience in creating Theories Of Change, logical frameworks approach/logic models, Impact Frameworks.
  • Experience in developing Evidence and Measurement Frameworks and operational tools such as Indicator trackers and results based monitoring approaches. 
  • Prior experience collaborating with project implementation teams and familiarity with project planning, Gantt charts, risk management etc. 
  • Experience working in a global context across timezones with multiple stakeholders in private sector finance
  • System creation and management (processes, practices, technical systems, resourcing, staffing, ways of working)
  • Experience in use of data analysis software such as MS Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Airtable  and visualisation software (Tableau or similar) or willingness to learn
  • Experience in carrying out data analysis using pivot tables, basic regression analysis and statistical methods or willingness to learn
  • Preferred Experience:  Developing basic Salesforce dashboards (or similar) or a willingness to learn
  • Permanently authorized to work in the United Kingdom, based in London
