Job purpose 

Leading the Information Management team in enhancing information management strategies and practices across the Foundation, ensuring data quality, governance and integrity. Managing the IFRS Foundation’s SharePoint environment, developing its architecture and implementing any key changes. This includes internal and external stakeholder management, supporting business process improvements and providing training and support for staff. 

The team 

The Information Management team ensure that all colleagues value and manage information and best practices as key assets to enable evidence-based decisions in support of our organisation-wide mission.​  We do this by:​

  • Managing improved information management strategies and practices across the Foundation including governance, data and information, policy and culture.   
  • Managing SharePoint architecture design and implementation activities whilst promoting documents and records management best practice.  
  • Providing oversight and management controls across Foundation’s feedback and research services 
  • Managing the Information Management work programme.  
  • Evolving the Foundation’s Information Management capability into a mature Knowledge Management programme, enabling effective capture, curation, sharing and reuse of organisational knowledge to support decision making, learning and impact. 

Principle accountabilities:   

Strategic Information Management  

  • Partner with staff and leadership across the Foundation to assess business objectives, and information needs, translating these into targeted process, technology and data improvements. 
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Foundation’s information management framework, ensuring strong governance, high data quality, information integrity, and clear supporting policies. 
  • Evolve Information Management into a coherent Knowledge Management capability, enabling effective capture, curation, sharing and reuse of organisational knowledge to support decision‑making, learning and impact. 
  • Embed information and knowledge asset management into everyday ways of working, supported by consistent standards, ongoing optimisation, and accessible training, guidance and support for staff. 
  • Develop and strengthen analytics and reporting capabilities, including dashboards and Power BI‑based reporting, to provide timely, reliable and actionable insights aligned to organisational priorities and decision‑making needs. Ensure information, knowledge and analytics solutions are designed and delivered in partnership with internal stakeholders and the Technology teams. 
  • Build the Foundation’s readiness for advanced analytics, including the responsible use of automation and AI, by improving data quality, metadata, knowledge structures and governance to support future innovation and insight generation. 

SharePoint Architecture, Design and Implementation activities 

  • Lead the Foundation’s SharePoint architecture, design and implementation, ensuring the platform is structured to support effective information governance, knowledge management, and analytics‑ready information assets in line with best‑practice principles. 
  • Provide architectural oversight of SharePoint build and configuration activity undertaken by authorised staff and partners, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with information and knowledge management standards. 
  • Assess and govern requests for new capabilities or changes to SharePoint, ensuring material impacts are reviewed before approval. 
  • Plan and deliver SharePoint migrations and enhancements, ensuring content, metadata and information structures support improved knowledge discovery, reuse, reporting and insight generation. 

Public Consultation and Information Research Services  

The Foundation undertakes public consultations to seek input from stakeholders on proposed changes to IFRS Standards and due process 

  • Oversee the delivery of Information Research services that support standard setting, ensuring research tools and corporate subscriptions are fit for purpose, cost‑effective, and aligned with organisational needs. 
  • Act as system owner for the Public Consultation database, ensuring the integrity, accessibility and effective use of consultation data throughout the consultation lifecycle. 
  • Lead vendor relationship management and product evaluation for research and consultation services, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and value for money.  

Qualifications and experience    

  • Bachelor’s degree in information and library studies or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered (Essential)  
  • Appropriate qualifications in SharePoint architecture and design (Essential)  
  • Information Management accreditation. Equivalent work experience considered (Essential) 
  • Demonstrable experience managing the delivery of information, research or library services within an organisation, including responsibility for people management, budgets and external suppliers. 
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and managing relationships with external vendors and third‑party providers. 
  • Proven experience in SharePoint architecture, design and implementation. 
  • Experience advising and supporting teams on Information Management initiatives, aligning activities with an organisational information or knowledge management strategy. 
  • Experience with analytics and decision support reporting is desirable.  
  • Experience operating effectively within a complex, international or not‑for‑profit organisation, with the ability to adapt information and knowledge practices to differing operational contexts. 

Knowledge and skills required  

  • Strong analytical capability with advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio and Word; working knowledge of Power BI and Power Automate highly desirable. 
  • Sound understanding of information, knowledge and data management principles, including information governance, metadata, records management and knowledge sharing practices. Experience or awareness of Knowledge Management concepts, frameworks or tools is desirable. 
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting concepts, including dashboards, data visualisation and the use of management information to support insight and decision‑making. 
  • Familiarity with research tools and databases, such as Nexis, Newsdesk, Capital IQ, Alphasense and EBSCO is desirable. 
  • Good knowledge of change management approaches, planning and control, budgeting and resource allocation processes. 
  • Highly organised and proactive, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address issues effectively. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and drive productivity across diverse stakeholder groups.
