POSITION SUMMARY

This is a currently available vacancy.

The IT Systems Lead is responsible for task and project management in the areas of desktop support, systems administration, and security operations. They have a global responsibility for ensuring staff are equipped, provisioned, and trained to use MEDA’s information technology systems effectively. This role will coordinate and collaborate with team members across the organization

overseeing IT processes, systems, and infrastructure to ensure they securely, efficiently, and strategically support global business operations.

Current Project Responsibilities will include:

Optimizing the delivery and retrieval of desktop assets to users. Cleanup of SharePoint access and permissions. Creating and updating current IT procedures. Formalizing processes and assisting in areas of automation to reduce overall effort.

Job Status: Full-time

Start Date: January 2026

Location(s): Hybrid-Waterloo, Minimum 2 days in office per week


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide excellent customer service in the form of timely online and in person user support globally
  • Participate in business and technical IT solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions.
  • Manage and maintain the internal departmental website, ensuring information is current and useful. Assist other departments and teams in doing the same.
  • Support the privacy directives of the Information Technology Department.
  • Global asset procurement, maintenance, and tracking. Develop and maintain MEDA’s procurement procedures, manage warranties, ensure quality control and tracking of procured equipment and set up for users, manage inter office shipments and maintenance of the asset management system.
  • Proactively monitor the organization's overall security posture, reviewing threat intelligence sources, updating security measures, addressing incidents in a timely manner, documenting learning, and facilitating staff training.



REQUIREMENTS

Education: Post secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Experience: 4-6 years of similar/related experience.

Technical Expertise: Microsoft365 administration. Experience with Sentinel and monitoring of security incidents. Knowledge of a variety of SAAS-based services to provide key business functions. Exposure to Microsoft licensing. Experience with IT procurement and accounting practices.
