The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Grade: Professional 307 Pay Range: $66,300.00 - $99,500.00 Job Description Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Lead the implementation and evaluation of comprehensive internship program with an emphasis on equitable access, expanding student participation, and collaboration with the colleges in building out programming. Consult with college leadership and program development to integrate internship experiences into academic curriculum. Work with employer partners and colleges to develop and assess learning outcomes for various internship and other experiential learning opportunities. Develop internship and other experiential learning business processes to standardize protocols. Ensure that developed protocols, processes and common language for internship experiences are utilized; continually evaluate and improve existing policies and procedures for internships and experiential education. Collaborate with WGU leaders in developing vision, strategic direction, and assessment of internship and experiential programs. Partner with multiple partnership teams in connecting with employer partners in the development of internship programs. Create and update internship resources including website resources and learning guides for students, employers, and university partners. Manage portfolio of academic programs that involve experiential learning and internships. Understand current legal, ethical and justice issues surrounding internships and be able to articulate these issues to relevant internal and external stakeholders. Collect and analyze internship data including internship participation, employer participation, and conversion/job offer rates; utilize data to inform decisions and initiatives. Collaborate with Internal Communications Specialist to develop a communications strategy, marketing opportunities to all relevant stakeholders. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to WGU faculty, staff, colleges, and region/strategic teams regarding internships. Promote accessibility of internship opportunities ensuring that all opportunities are posted in Handshake. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities: Demonstrated success in development, management, and assessment of internship and/or other experiential learning programs. Proven ability for critical thinking and flexibility for strategic decisions; able to work well with overarching managerial guidance for key program developments. Demonstrated effectiveness as a culturally competent professional with broad experience interacting with and supporting the needs of a diverse student population. Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to meeting the needs of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic background of the student, community, and employee population. Well-developed skills in assessing organizational effectiveness and identifying areas of strength as well as needs for improvement. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational skills with ability to handle several projects simultaneously. Ability to utilize sound judgment and apply methods appropriate to problems and needs of clients. Ability to navigate complex organizational processes, student advocacy solutioning. Ability to develop, prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports and utilize student success data to inform decisions. Ability to build collaborative relationships characterized by mutual respect, trust, and commitment to shared goals. Job Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, Human Resources, Social Science, Communication, Counseling, a closely related field of study, or equivalent work experience Five (5) years of experience in career services with a strong understanding of career education from a student developmental perspective, career integration into the academic curriculum, experiential learning and employment, program development, and overall knowledge of career trends within higher education Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, Human Resources, or other related discipline Experience fostering an inclusive environment, ensuring access to opportunity for all students and alumni, working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds Experience with Handshake or a similar application Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Salesforce Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
