Legal and Compliance Officer
In this position you will play a key role in the functions of the BlueOrchard Risk, Legal and Compliance Department, and will support and further develop the compliance and legal function in Switzerland for the BlueOrchard Group and take primary responsibility for day-to-day compliance oversight.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Provide compliance advice and support to the Business and Management in compliance related matters, in particular on regulatory and Compliance developments and trends (including financial market regulations, data protection, AML/KYC, etc.) applicable to Swiss and cross-border Asset Management activities;
- Review marketing materials and communications for compliance considerations, in collaboration with the Business, in an international context;
- Conduct, maintain and develop the BlueOrchard Compliance program (incl. Compliance policies and procedures, monitoring activities, investigations, thematic reviews, risk assessments, reporting, training, etc.);
- Advise on policies and procedures and assist business stakeholders addressing various Corporate Compliance requests;
- Supporting the implementation of issues identified in external and internal audits, Compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting;
- Support reporting to relevant regulators, the BlueOrchard Board, and Schroders Group Compliance.
- Contribute to cross-jurisdictional legal and compliance projects in collaboration with international teams.
- Draft, review and negotiate legal matters in German
- Act as a point of contact for the Swiss regulator (FINMA) and support the compliance operations as needed for the BlueOrchard management company in Luxembourg.
Required skills and experience
- Legal background and/or specialized experience in Asset Management Legal and Compliance, with in-depth knowledge of Swiss and European regulatory frameworks applicable to asset management and funds.
- At least 5 years working experience in Asset Management and/or Finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a Compliance function.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and German are essential.

- Willingness to live and work in Switzerland (valid Swiss work permit).
