The Legal Response Team (”LRT”) sits within the Legal and Incident Response (”LiRT”) pillar of Trust & Safety. LRT is comprised of FTEs, contractors, and agents who have been employed through our BPO, IP House, and is responsible for the following workflows: 

  • Responding to government user data requests 
  • Responding to third-party civil subpoena and criminal defense subpoena user data requests 
  • Processing government content reports and/or takedown requests, including those submitted by DSA Article 22 Trusted Flaggers.

The Legal Response Team provides a critical support function for Company compliance and reputation. Applicants will have the opportunity to help this team in continuing to grow and scale its operations and footprint.

This hire will report to the Legal Response Manager and will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you’ll be doing

  • Focus predominantly on established law enforcement request queue work
  • Ensure work products meet legal and regulatory requirements specific to job function (financial crime, child sexual exploitation, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, and IP/Copyright.)
  • Follow established SOPs and guidance, including use of appropriate macros and communications with Law Enforcement & Third Parties, as defined by management and Legal for tactical, day-to-day tasks
  • Identify gaps in product, process, and policy, and escalates as needed
  • Actively develop areas of subject matter expertise such as:
    • Developing partnerships with key XfN stakeholders by completing specific, limited-scope projects such as ____
    • Executing on all foundational queue work including Kodex tickets, time sensitive cases, and escalations from XfN partners

What you should have

  • 3+ years experience in a similar Legal Response role at a technology company
  • Knowledge of relevant statutes regarding user data in the US and globally.
  • Familiarity with Kodex or similar platforms and ticket topics, including emergency disclosure requests, subpoenas, search warrants, court orders, etc. with basic ability to apply knowledge to ticket work in Kodex
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement or growth mindset; able to receive constructive feedback and make improvements
  • Communications are effective, thorough, and clear

Bonus points

  • Experience with Kodex

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available. There is no formal requirement to work from the office.

The US hourly rate range for this full-time position is $51.92 to $58.40 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
