Position Overview: 1 Year, Full-Time Fixed Term Employment Contract

 

Global Citizen is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manager, Climate Campaign Partnerships to join our Global Policy and Advocacy team. This role will help manage advocacy relationships, policy partnerships, and civil society engagement as part of Global Citizen’s broader climate initiatives in the year leading up to the COP 30 Climate Conference in Belém and the Global Citizen Festival: Amazonia. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Lead for Climate Campaigns to advance our most ambitious climate policy campaign to date, with a focus on mobilizing international commitments to end deforestation. They will manage policy programming and stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of campaign objectives to policymakers and tracking progress against key milestones.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Policy Partnership and Stakeholder Management (50%)
    • Oversee engagement with key policy organizations and coalitions to advance Global Citizen's climate policy priorities and commitments, with a particular focus on financing for nature and biodiversity.
    • Manage advocacy relationships, ensuring clear communication of campaign objectives to policymakers and stakeholders.
    • Conduct policy research to align campaign goals with global climate policy trends, specifically related to deforestation and fossil fuel transition.
    • Track and communicate policy partnership deliverables across internal teams, ensuring commitments are met and recorded.


  • Coalition Building and Civil Society Engagement (25%)
    • Convene and manage meetings with campaign coalition partners to mobilize commitments and track progress for key policy objectives.
    • Engage with civil society groups, including preparing briefing materials, taking meeting notes, and coordinating outreach to social movements and community organizations.
    • Coordinate documentation of coalition activities and ensure inclusive, effective engagement strategies aligned with campaign objectives.


  • Content Development and Research (15%)
    • Develop communication materials such as FAQs, one-pagers, presentation decks, and talking points to support policy commitments aimed at decision-makers and stakeholders.
    • Produce research briefs on climate policy issues, implementation strategies, and key stakeholders within the climate sector, with a focus on deforestation and Amazon protection.
    • Support the development of internal materials and reports to inform strategic decisions.


  • Event Coordination and Logistical Support (10%)
    • Provide logistical support for policy programming at events, including speaker coordination, segment planning, and partner outreach.
    • Assist with the preparation and execution of key campaign events, ensuring seamless integration of policy objectives.
    • Travel occasionally for event coordination and partner engagement as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree (preferred) in Political Science, Human Rights, Social Impact, International Relations, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • 4-7 years of experience with non-governmental organizations, international institutions, coalition-building, United Nations agencies, or non-profit organizations (experience with data management, measurement, and evaluation is a plus).
  • Fluency in English and Brazilian Portuguese is required.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle projects with professionalism and discretion.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, Excel, Google Suite, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
