The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Venue Press Operations Manager:
The Press Operations (PRS) Team’s aim is to deliver high-quality spaces and services to the press (written and photographers) to cover the Olympic and Paralympic Games effectively. This includes the planning, management, and delivery of the Main Press Center (MPC), press operations within competition venues, and key Games-time services tailored to the needs of accredited press such as accommodation, accreditation, transportation, etc.
The PRS team works in close coordination with other LA28 functional areas to ensure that press has the infrastructure and support required to tell the stories of the Games to a global audience. From venue layouts and technical requirements to operational planning and Games-time execution, the PRS team plays a critical role in shaping the press experience at the Games.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Press Services, this person will work collaboratively across functional areas, external partners, and press stakeholders to ensure readiness and excellence in all aspects of press services delivery in the lead up to the Games Period and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with the International Olympic Committee (IOC)
- Coordinate communications and manage the exchange of information with the IOC
- Understand, review and optimize all press delivery requirements with the IOC
- Facilitate and support venue site visits for the IOC
- Liaise with the IOC and the LA28 functional areas to address venue-related press needs
- Assist in planning and delivery of all World Press Briefings
- Work with IOC and IPC to gather requirements, secure strategic alignment, streamline approvals, and identify optimization opportunities
Management & Oversight of all Venue Press Operations at LA28
- Work with all LA28 functional areas on venue related press areas
- Coordinate all milestones and deliverables for press with LA28 functional areas, IOC, IPC and Press stakeholders (as appropriate)
- Support all infrastructure and technical planning for press services, including venue development of press areas at competition venues, non-competition venues, & Main Press Center (MPC)
- Assist in coordinating with local delivery partners to ensure readiness of press venues
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Establish strong working relationships with key Functional Areas (e.g., Venue Infrastructure, Venue Management, Technology, Hospitality & Ticketing, Games Operations)
- Ensure press planning and services align with broader cross-functional timelines and objectives
- Collaborate closely with Ticketing and Hospitality teams, particularly within the Seating Bowl Working Group, to address press needs in venues
Background & Qualifications:

Required experience:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with 7+ years of experience supporting large-scale event planning, venue operations, or facilities coordination
- Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships
- Experience working across multiple functional areas

- Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
- Experience implementing communication strategies that are accessible and inclusive to a variety of audiences, including considerations for language and accessibility for people with disabilities.
- Strong planning, coordination, and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Ability to understand architectural drawings and venue layouts to help inform planning conversations
- Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues
- Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work where applicable

Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Submission Requirements:
The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
