SUMMARY

Following the ongoing humanitarian needs in Gaza, IsraAID is expanding its Regional Response team to support affected communities. The response focuses on strengthening health services and access to essential medicines through close collaboration with International NGO’s, relevant authorities, and partner organizations.

The MHPSS Specialist will support the design and implementation of IsraAID’s MHPSS and Child Protection interventions and maintain close contact with the implementing partners in Gaza. In addition, the MHPSS Specialist will maintain direct contact with the Gaza-based partners and will work in collaboration with the rest of the Programs Team.

The role combines technical advising with collaboration with local professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support and Program Implementation

  • Support the implementation of MHPSS and Child Protection interventions, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to humanitarian principles.
  • Lead Capacity Building MHPSS- focused programs with local partners, including online sessions. Develop materials when needed.
  • Support the identification and use of referral pathways for cases requiring specialized care.
  • Participate in gaps assessments and ongoing context analysis to adapt health programming to evolving needs.
  • Document activities, observations, and technical recommendations to support learning, accountability, and quality improvement.
  • Contribute to the documentation of lessons learned, challenges, and good practices from field implementation.

Field Support

  • Maintain direct communication with Gaza-based partners to provide on-the-ground guidance and problem-solving support.
  • Conduct regular meetings to monitor service delivery, provide support, and identify training needs.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to partners and IsraAID staff involved in MHPSS and Child Protection activities.





ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills & experience:

  • Professional Qualification in the fields of Mental Health, Child Protection, Social Work, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development health programs is an asset.
  • Fluent Arabic and English – A MUST.
  • Experience in trainings and content development – an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to consistently meet tight deadlines.
