The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated leader to join our volunteer Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring financial sustainability, and championing our mission.
Core Responsibilities

Strategic Governance: Participate in setting the strategic vision, approving annual budgets, and evaluating the organization’s progress.

Fiduciary Duty: Ensure the organization complies with its legal obligations and maintains financial integrity.

Advocacy & Ambassadors: Represent NESsT in the community, helping to build networks and raise awareness for our cause.

Resource Development: Actively participate in fundraising efforts, either through personal contributions, introducing the organization to potential donors, or assisting with events.
Ideal Qualifications & Expertise
We are actively looking for candidates who possess a personal commitment to our mission and bring experience in any of the following areas:

Strong network of corporate, investment, development, philanthropic institutions and/or HNWIs/Family Offices in Europe, including Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland with a focus on supporting Central Europe, and/or Latin America.

Experience and/or commitment to impact investing; particularly with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe—Poland, Romania.

Passionate about opening doors and making introductions to your networks.

Understanding the social enterprise and small enterprise sectors in the region is a plus.
Time Commitment & Terms

Term: Board members serve a 3-year term, with the opportunity for renewal.

Meetings: The board meets three to four times per year, virtually, with one in-presence meeting.

Committee Work: Members are expected to serve on at least one committee, requiring an additional 2 hours per month.
Serving on the board of NESsT is an opportunity to make a tangible, lasting difference among social enterprises and SMEs serving vulnerable people in the emerging market countries while collaborating with a network of dedicated professionals. This is a non-compensated, volunteer leadership role.
