The Partnerships Capacity Strengthening Coordinator will lead and support capacity building of Trócaire’s local partners,

ensuring they have the organisational systems, skills, and structures to deliver high-quality, sustainable programmes. You will

lead partner assessments, develop tailored capacity-building action plans, deliver training and mentoring, and coordinate

closely with Programmes, Finance, and MEAL teams to ensure quality delivery, compliance, and reporting. You will also

represent Trócaire and support local partner organizations , building strong collaborations across agenices.

Capacity Strengthening & Organisational Development

  • Initiate and support capacity strengthening of local partners through organisational assessments and tailored action plans.
  • Deliver high-quality training, mentoring, and workshops in technical and organizational areas
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to strengthen partner systems and ensure long-term sustainability.

Project Management & Compliance

  • Oversee the design and delivery of Capacity Strengthening projects, ensuring timely implementation, accurate budgeting, and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Work in close coordination with Programme, Finance, and MEAL teams to align activities, track results, and produce quality reports.
  • Monitor progress against action plans, ensuring challenges are addressed proactively and lessons are incorporated into future planning.

Learning & Knowledge Sharing

  • Document outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices to strengthen both partner organisations and Trócaire’s own approaches.
  • Facilitate opportunities for reflection and learning across teams and partners, including peer exchanges, case studies, and review workshops.
  • Ensure resources and documentation are accessible and well maintained in line with Trócaire’s systems and standards.

Representation & Coordination

  • Act as a focal point for capacity strengthening for Trocaire and with partners. Promote Trócaire’s commitment to solidarity, participation, and inclusion in all external engagements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in capacity building, partnerships, or organisational development, ideally within the NGO or development sector.
  • Strong skills in project management, including budget oversight, compliance, and donor reporting.
  • Proven ability to deliver training, coaching, and technical support to strengthen organisational systems.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across teams and cultures.
  • A strong personal and professional alignment with Trócaire’s values of solidarity, participation, accountability, and courage.

Trócaire offers a competitive package of salary and benefits including pension scheme and life assurance. You will report to the Partnerships Manager, the job opportunity will be offered on a fixed term contract (FTE) for 12 months and is based in Syria. Hiring of this position is dependant on funding.
