Job Title: Planned Giving Manager


Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research ("the Foundation") is seeking top talent for its Planned Giving Manager role.  Reporting to the VP, Head of Planned Giving, this position is responsible for supporting the Foundation’s estate giving program alongside the Senior Planned Giving Manager.  This role manages a portfolio of estates and trusts and is responsible for the execution of critical elements to ensure gifts are processed in a timely manner.  This position also provides critical administrative and operational support to ensure success and efficiency of the estate giving program and initiatives.  In close collaboration with other team members, tasks include data and record keeping, managing digital files, and drafting stewardship language.  This position plays a vital role in ensuring every interaction is warm, efficient, and aligned with the Foundation’s high standard of donor care. 

This is a hybrid-flex position that will require in-person attendance at the Foundation’s office in New York City. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a portfolio of planned gifts and estates, including bequests, trusts, beneficiary designations, and other deferred giving vehicles 
  • Review and interpret estate documentation and gift terms to identify risks, compliance considerations, and settlement options, escalating complex matters to Legal or Finance as appropriate 
  • Maintain accurate donor and gift records through data entry, documentation management, and CRM updates 
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to evaluate gift acceptance, valuation, and settlement considerations, contributing informed recommendations  
  • Monitor estate administration timelines and proactively address delays, inconsistencies, or issues affecting settlement, donor intent, or compliance.  Prepare reports and maintain records for audits and internal reviews 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Planned Giving Manager and Legal to improve processes and ensure compliance and accuracy 
  • Serve as an internal liaison to support smooth workflow, timely gift processing, and cross-team communication 
  • Draft correspondence and stewardship materials for estate contacts and family members 
  • Support stewardship by building relationships with constituents and reinforcing long-term donor engagement 
  • Route non–planned giving inquiries to appropriate teams and ensure coordinated follow-up 
  • Partner across teams to enhance communication channels, operational efficiency, and donor experience 


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of planned giving, current trends in philanthropy, and estate planning for individuals.  Experience in development or planned giving is preferred 
  • Licensed notary and/or paralegal certification is preferred 
  • Strong time management skills and adept at pivoting to manage shifting priorities 
  • Self-starter with sound judgement and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently on complex donor strategies 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills 
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM software such as Salesforce 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits
Individual compensation for this role is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, skillsets, and applicable laws.  In addition to salary, the Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Salary Range
$75,000$85,000 USD
