Teresa Wincrantz, Head of External Communications

About the Team

The External Communications team holds a unique position within the GSMA, supporting all pillars of the organisation; including Outreach, Industry Services and Solutions, and Connectivity for Good. This broad remit means we’re deeply involved across a wide range of global initiatives, amplifying the GSMA’s voice and ensuring our work has maximum reach. We’re a small and closely knit team, known for being agile, collaborative, and purpose driven. Our strength lies in our ability to work across functions, align with strategic goals, and deliver impactful communications.

About the role

As PR Executive, you will play a critical role in maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, producing communications pieces, and creating reports that demonstrate the work and performance of the PR and Communications team. You will be a digital native, adept at using and learning new technologies. You’re driven, proactive, highly organised and focused on getting things done, whether that is writing drafts, collating reports or working collaboratively with the team and across a complex global organisation.

Strong storytelling skills are essential, as you’ll help draft a variety of communications materials, including press releases, media alerts, and more. You will also oversee the organisation, and version control of key PR documents, ensuring all materials are properly approved and accessible. The role involves participating in meetings to capture key actions, track progress, and manage deliverables.

You’ll be responsible for managing media inquiries via our press box, identifying and advancing high-impact opportunities with top-tier media that align with our strategic objectives. You’ll also support the Head of External Communications with a range of administrative tasks, including budget tracking, raising purchase orders, managing contracts and measuring the impact of our work.

About You

  • You bring relevant experience from PR, management consultancy, or another environment where you’ve built transferable skills in communication, strategy, and client relations.

  • You’re someone who can confidently navigate challenges across teams, working smoothly with others to deliver high-quality results every time. You take initiative, meet deadlines, and hold yourself to a standard of excellence.

  • You have demonstrable and hands-on experience with tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Cision, WordPress, and the full Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of AI tools is a plus.

  • You’re a skilled communicator who knows how to adapt your message to suit different audiences, cultures, and contexts.

  • You're enthusiastic, approachable, and diplomatic. You’re someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
