About GSMA Membership

There four main GSMA membership types available on a company membership basis. The membership types are subject to certain criteria and, in terms of fees, tiered based on revenue (and subscriptions in the case of Operators), This role relates to the 4th membership type:

1. Operator Membership – for mobile operators, over 650 of which are currently GSMA members;

2. Rapporteur Membership, for Mobile Virtual Network Operators;

3. Industry Membership for suppliers to the mobile industry;

4. Extended Membership – for specific sectors, and regions, that are increasingly benefiting from mobile, for example Fintech & Commerce, and Manufacturing and Production.

The role of the GSMA Membership function is to acquire, manage and retain members of all types. GSMA Membership enables Members to Amplify their business and offering via the GSMA’s communications channels - and use the GSMA Member logo; Build connections, influence and knowledge via access to GSMA Working Groups and Permanent Reference Documents – including those relating to roaming; and to Collaborate via the GSMA Member Gateway industry platform, GSMA Communities and the GSMA Foundry.

About the Role

This Extended Membership Product Management role is primarily concerned with growing sustainable membership revenue relating to the GSMA’s Sector and Regional membership products:

Product Strategy and Vision: Developing and communicating a clear product vision, strategy and positioning in line with business goals.

Customer Research, Insights and Segmentation: Conducting product-related research, inc. customer and prospect interviews and participation in sales meetings, to understand and define customer needs and pain points, opportunities for product innovation – and to express these via a segmentation customer personas.

Competitor Analysis: Understanding and monitoring of the competitive landscape (to the extent that this exists).

Product Roadmap and Features: Defining, evolving and maintaining a product roadmap, prioritizing features and improvements / fixes based on customer feedback, market demands, and business objectives.

Data-Driven Product Iteration and Evolution: Continuously gathering feedback from stakeholders and customers to inform product iterations and improvements. Monitoring industry trends and competitor products to ensure the product remains competitive. Identifying new opportunities for product development and market expansion.

Customer Focus and Advocacy: Acting as a voice of the customer in all product-related discussions and decisions.

Pricing: Review pricing strategy.

Promotion: Collaborating with Marketing and sales to promote Extended Membership propositions to target audiences.

Sales Enablement: Developing sales enablement material in to support the sales team and maximise chances of success.

Adoption: Promoting product adoption and tracking customer engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensuring clear communication and buy-in across teams to track progress, remove roadblocks, and deliver / refine. Particularly close collaboration with Technology, Marketing Communications and Sales will be required.

Budget Management: Responsibility for managing the related sales and promotion budget.

Milestones and Reporting: Tracking and reporting progress and product performance against agreed KPIs, to include measurement of the effectiveness of individual product features.

Project Management: Of the overall Extended Membership effort and activities.

About You

  • You are an experienced B2B product manager and leader.

  • Mobile industry and / or membership experience could be beneficial.

  • You have a proven track record of B2B early lifecycle product management in complex environments where both strategic thinking and tactical delivery are required.

  • You can demonstrate the ability to drive forward while working and collaborating as part of a team.

  • You are passionate about continuous improvement and are an excellent communicator.

  • You are flexible and happy, willing and able to be hands on and are good at prioritising.
