We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.

The Role: This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of groundbreaking AI research and real-world application. You will be the crucial link between our world-class Gemini Robotics research teams and the external robotics teams using it, ensuring our models not only achieve exceptional quality but are strategically optimized to solve the complex challenges of physical autonomy in real-world applications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the Vision: Craft and champion a compelling product strategy and roadmap for Gemini model optimizations tailored specifically for the unique demands of robotics.
  • Build the Ecosystem: Drive ecosystem building by identifying opportunities for new robotics solutions to create markets and managing key strategic partnerships.
  • Bridge Two Worlds: Serve as the key liaison between our Robotics engineering teams and the robotics community including our customers. You will be influencing their roadmap to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to model integration and optimization.
  • Translate Ambition into Action: Distill complex AI model performance data and intricate robotics system needs into clear, actionable product requirements for our engineering and research teams.
  • Champion Your Strategy: Clearly and effectively communicate product plans, progress, and challenges to a wide range of stakeholders, from executive leadership to hands-on research teams.
  • Build strong relationships: You will be working cross functionally with key stakeholders ranging from engineering, to partnerships including our strategy and legal teams.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Machine Learning, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience leading product or related technical efforts to successfully launch robotics products.
  • Deep understanding of the industrial and consumer robotics market opportunities.
  • Prior experience anticipating and executing against challenges to successfully launching and deploying robots through production from 0-to-1 and then scaling operations.
  • Deep understanding of the robotics ecosystem, including key players in the supply chain and opportunities across sectors.
  • Proven Deployment Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience successfully deploying robots in production, specifically navigating early-stage (0-to-1) obstacles, executing launches, managing systems integration, hitting reliability targets, and scaling operations.
  • Proven experience in managing key partnerships and ecosystem building.
  • Solid ML understanding, specifically with experience in deployed perception or planning models.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required for the role.

In addition the following would be an advantage:

  • A mindset embracing GenAI's transformative potential in robotics with excitement for the field's future.
  • Direct experience with AI models used in autonomous systems or other embodied AI applications.
  • A powerful vision for how artificial intelligence will revolutionize robotics.
