The Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for online academic programs, ensuring they are high-quality, industry-relevant, and aligned with institutional goals. This role is responsible for managing faculty, improving learner outcomes, and assisting with curriculum revisions - for competency based programs running 100% online.
The Program Director needs to have deep subject matter expertise in any of these disciplines: business, leadership digital transformation, marketing, finance, and artificial intelligence.
The Program Director collaborates with academic leadership, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to drive enrollment, innovation, and continuous improvement. With a strong foundation in online education and professional experience, the Program Director ensures that programs prepare graduates for success in today’s dynamic, competitive business environment.
- Represent and champion academic programs both within the university community and to external stakeholders.
- Review, and oversee curriculum as lead subject matter expert to ensure it remains current, rigorous, and responsive to industry and academic standards in collaboration with the Product Development team.
- Assess learner performance and achievement of learning outcomes to improve learner success, retention, and program goals.
- Hire and provide mentorship, support, and academic leadership to faculty and evaluators.
- Serve on university committees, accreditation task forces, and working groups to support academic governance and quality assurance.
- Pilot and implement new academic initiatives to enhance faculty interaction with learners including integrating the use of AI across faculty operations
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and academic presentations aligned with program and institutional goals based on scheduling needs.
Qualifications
Education:
- A doctorate in a discipline aligned with the university’s academic offerings, such as Information Technology, Business, or a business-related field, is required.
- Academic background should align with business disciplines such as management, finance, marketing, operations, and entrepreneurship; or should align with information technology such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital transformation, computer science, or related IT disciplines.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in the business or IT industry.
- Experience directing graduate or executive-level online academic programs.
- Experience in hiring, training, and managing remote teams.
- Proficient with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard), CRM systems, and data analytics tools.)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Deep understanding of online education, including evolving market needs, digital transformation, and leadership development.
- Experience leveraging AI-driven tools and analytics to enhance program delivery, personalize learner engagement, or support data-informed decision-making in business education.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement—including faculty, students, alumni, and industry partners.
- Expertise in curriculum development and outcomes assessment.
