The Team

Across our work in Science, Education, and within our communities, we pair technology with grantmaking, impact investing, and collaboration to help accelerate the pace of progress toward our mission. Our Operations organization provides the support needed to push this work forward.  Operations consists of our Marketing & Communications, Central Tech, Finance, People, Real Estate/Workplace/Events/Facilities/Security (REWFS), Strategy & Operations, and Ventures teams. These teams provide the essential operations, services, and strategies needed to support CZI’s progress toward achieving its mission to build a better future for everyone.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Logistics & Warehouse Program Lead to build, lead, and scale warehouse and logistics operations in support of organizational initiatives and partner needs. This role will oversee inventory management, vendor coordination, shipping and receiving, compliance processes, and continuous improvement efforts.

You will serve as a cross-functional partner to Operations, Finance, Legal, Security, and program teams to ensure materials and equipment move efficiently from procurement to deployment. This is an opportunity to design and strengthen operational systems that support high-impact work across a dynamic and growing organization.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, dispatch, delivery, reverse logistics, and material handling
  • Design and implement scalable logistics systems to support expanding Biohub locations
  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and compliance policies 
  • Maintain documented procedures that clearly define Receiving, Material Movement and Storage, Kitting, and Shipping roles and responsibilities
  • Manage warehouse inventory to ensure optimal commodity levels in support of lab operations and site needs 
  • Develop inventory controls, tracking systems, and reporting mechanisms to improve accuracy and visibility
  • Partner with internal teams to forecast demand and proactively align logistics capacity
  • Lead vendor relationships, including performance management, service level agreements, and continuous improvement
  • Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and support long-term scale
  • Support physical material handling, including the ability to lift up to 45 pounds as needed

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent applicable work experience
  • 5–7+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management
  • Experience building or scaling warehouse and logistics programs in a growing organization
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory controls, and safety compliance standards
  • Demonstrated experience developing SOPs and operational documentation
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and holding partners accountable to service standards
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to align diverse internal partners
  • Comfort operating in a dynamic, evolving environment with growing infrastructure needs
  • Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

Compensation

The Redwood City, CA base pay range for a new hire in this role is $106,000 - $146,300. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process.
