The Team
The Global Health division uses innovation, data, and partnerships to reduce global disease burdens and expand access to health services in low- and middle-income countries. The Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) team focuses on the control, elimination, and eradication of selected high-burden diseases recognized by the WHO, and on building integrated, sustainable delivery platforms that strengthen health systems more broadly. The team is structured around upstream innovation and downstream implementation, and collaborates closely with global partners, national governments, and other foundation teams.This position is a limited-term position for 12 months. Relocation will not be provided.

As the Program Officer, Analytics & Modeling, you will report to the Deputy Director, Upstream Domain and work closely with other investment owners and key partners. You will manage and advise on a portfolio of highly visible data and modeling initiatives that cut across the NTD strategy.
You will provide thought leadership on the foundation’s data strategy for NTDs, serve as a technical resource to the Program Strategy Team (PST), and ensure coordination and execution of major investments. This includes serving as a trusted partner to external collaborators, developing insights to guide decision-making, and strengthening our approach to using data to achieve measurable results in disease elimination.
You will create data and analytics that close gaps in primary data, strengthen analytical tools and methods, and package and disseminate insights to widely diverse audiences. You will also convert technical outputs into compelling visualizations, persuasive narratives, and novel insights that directly inform program and policy decisions for maximum impact!
Project and Portfolio Management
Identify potential grantees and build impactful investments related to innovations in data analytics and NTD modeling.
Manage timelines, coordinate across partners, and track deliverables for key analytics and modeling investments.
Monitor progress, assess risks, and ensure accountability for results across partners and grantees.
Data Analytics and Content Support
Conduct and advise on modeling, risk analysis, and intervention assessments.
Identify impactful problems in control and elimination and address them by applying existing or developing novel methods.
Serve as the liaison between external partners and the NTD team on modeling outputs, data requests, and program-relevant analyses.
Translate technical modeling results into actionable insights for strategy reviews, leadership discussions, and learning sessions.
Develop high-quality summary materials, briefings, and dashboards for internal and external audiences.
Technical Expertise and Thought Partnership
Advise the NTD Program Strategy Team (PST) on the implementation of the current data strategy.
Contribute to the refinement of strategic frameworks, including the theory of change, partner landscape, prioritization of data investments, and measurement framework.
Provide cross-sectoral perspectives by drawing on lessons from other global health programs and industries that have advanced data strategies.
Act as an informed and trusted technical advisor to program staff and partners, strengthening the use of analytics in strategic planning and investment design.
Envision innovative framings of problems to simplify work and cut to essential issues.
Clearly communicate sophisticated methods to diverse audiences.
Identify knowledge or data gaps in the settings in which we work and propose solutions.
Support an inclusive culture through modeling behaviors and actions, escalating issues in a timely fashion to appropriate partners.
A Ph.D. degree or equivalent demonstrated experience, preferably in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics/Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Epidemiology, Computational Biology).
Knowledge of disease control and public health issues in LMICs.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., R or Python).
Experience in statistical inference (e.g., maximum likelihood, Bayesian statistics, optimization).
Strong data analysis skills, with ability to translate outputs into decision-ready insights.
Stochastic modeling or disease modeling experience (e.g., stochastic processes, compartmental models, or agent-based models).
Experience working with governments, multi-laterals, or academic partners to strengthen data systems and use of evidence.
Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to communicate complex modeling and data concepts to diverse stakeholders, including technical partners, country programs, and foundation leadership.
Project Management: Strong project and portfolio management skills, with a track record of coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and ensuring measurable outcomes.
Commitment to Excellence: Deep expertise in data strategy, analytics, and modeling in health programs, with demonstrated ability to advise on investment design and programmatic decision-making.
Collaboration / Relationship building: Demonstrated skills developing trusted partnerships, influence decision-making, and provide clear and concise written analyses.
Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
The salary range for this role is $154,200.00 to $231,400.00 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $168,200.00 to $252,200.00 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
