The role
The Quality Officer (QO) is responsible for overseeing the quality of interpretation and translation services, ensuring they are delivered efficiently and in alignment with CLEAR Global’s mission.
The QO owns and manages issues resolution and feedback processes, actively monitoring, evaluating, and implementing learnings to improve the quality offered to clients and partner organizations.
Working closely with the Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator, the QO supports the development, implementation, and refinement of quality strategy and tools, ensuring they are guided by service needs, quality risks, and underperformance areas.
The QO also collaborates with the Product and wider Programs and Solutions teams to support quality delivery across other CLEAR Global, as assigned.
Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Support the Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator in the definition and implementation of quality strategy for interpretation and translation services,
- Support the Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator in designing, documenting, and implementing quality processes in line with the quality strategy,
- Liaise with the Project Management Team and Product Team to ensure services comply with quality and service delivery procedures, serving as a user’s point of contact for service issues reporting,
- Analyse, document, reply to, and report on non-compliance issues relating to negative feedback,
- Work with the Grants and Partnership Team to monitor and manage partner satisfaction,
- Monitor quality metrics, report on them regularly and in a timely manner, and make recommendations to improve them,
- Handle other quality-related tasks as assigned.
Community Development
- Collaborate with the Quality, Accountability and Learning Coordinator in designing quality management procedures adequate to the evolving needs and capacities of different language speakers,
- Support the Product Team with onboarding, assessing and monitoring the performance of the community,
- Develop and implement guidelines and support materials, such as tasks instructions, golden standards, checklists, or similar,
- Develop mechanisms to ensure community members receive appropriate and constructive feedback, and that repeated non-compliance is addressed,
- Collaborate on training and other similar initiatives to build the skills and expertise of communities.
Team Building
- Report on metrics accurately and in a timely manner,
- Work within the Programs and Solutions Team and wider organization to build cross-team coherency,
- Participate in organization-wide discussions, contributing actively.
Performs other tasks as assigned. Please note that these responsibilities may change over time. The role will evolve along with the overall program as projects and activities develop to reflect the changing product and language needs of the CLEAR Global clients and partners.
Qualifications
- Excellent command of English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage;
- University Degree in linguistic, interpretation, or translation OR in international development, project management, or related studies;
- Knowledge of language industry standards, trends and technologies, particularly related to interpretation and translation services quality management;
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the industry;
- Previous experience in interpreting and/or translation is desirable;
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations is desirable;
- Knowledge of CAT tools, practical use of Large Language Models (LLMs), and other language products quality management is a plus.
