The Job

The Risk Analytics Lead plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of our service delivery mechanisms. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to the verification and authenticity of services provided in our ecosystem. The Risk Analytics Lead shall use fraud risk understanding, data analysis, visualization and data modeling techniques to guide risk analysts and auditors to key areas of focus to manage fraud and other platform risks effectively. This shall be used to provide insight, identify risk trends and recommend a response action to the risk director and the team.  In addition, the Risk Analytics Lead shall supervise and provide day-to-day technical support to the risk analysts.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and leadership
    You will ensure that the risk analytics team's priorities and activities align with the risk goals and the trusted results strategy. This shall also include the team’s resourcing, engagement, collaboration with other teams, and allocation of work to achieve organizational needs. 
  • Risk analysis and dashboarding
    You continuously ensure new risks and patterns are identified, documented and thoroughly investigated through data analytics (data-driven reports)  and continuously automated. This includes creation and maintenance of updated risk dashboards for local programmes and reporting needs, automated analysis of data utilising all available sources to ensure efficient identification of risk patterns.
  • Process and control improvements

           Following risk analysis, you will recommend and follow through with the implementation of new processes and controls to improve our ability to       

           respond to risks to the platform and our programs.

  • Routine activity management
    You will ensure that routine risk activities such as data verification, analysis, risk flagging, monitoring of tools such as biometrics flags, actors' payment data review are carried out on time and accurately to ensure that day to day expectations of the team are met.
  • Compliance management
    You will ensure that the platform actors' risk management SOP is implemented and complied with both by the risk team and the operations teams by carrying out regular reviews for compliance and communicating findings to both the risk director and to operational teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Tech team to integrate risk management into business processes and decision-making
  • Other projects

           You run, get involved with and help out colleagues on other projects as needed.


About you:

You are a people person and great at dealing with problems and frustrations. You are someone who pays attention to detail and has excellent analytical skills. You have an extremely thorough approach to their work, and ensure that tasks are followed up on and completed in a timely manner.


Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a risk analysis or data integrity role
  • Experience working with biometric technologies, GPS/location-based data, or digital identity verification systems
  • You have knowledge of fraud detection systems, technologies, and machine learning for risk modeling
  • You have excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills
  • You are a logical thinker and a practical problem solver
  • You have an eye for detail and follow through on tasks
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, POPIA) and ethical handling of personal data


The Rewards

At Tiko we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is € 2 073 – 3 109 in Ethiopia, R 51 148 – 76 723 in South Africa,CFA988,916, UGX7,940,918 -  UGX11,911,377 in Uganda, €2,568 - €3,853 in Portugal
plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
