Position Summary
Own and lead the RMI Salesforce ecosystem in partnership with our Development, Corporate Engagement and Influence Teams. This role provides technical and strategic leadership for Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce integrations, ensuring platforms effectively support fundraising, programs, communications, finance, and operations.
The position serves as a cross-functional technical leader, driving CRM strategy, system optimization, data integrity, process improvement, and Salesforce integration architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce & CRM Strategy
Own the Salesforce ecosystem, including strategic roadmap planning aligned with organizational goals, serving the Development and Strategic Engagement team as a primary client.
Support portfolio level goals in line with internal client team norms and operational plans for relationship and pipeline management.
Serve as senior technical lead for Salesforce and associated platforms (Marketing Cloud, FormAssembly, Tableau, Revenue Grid, Dun & Bradstreet, GoFundMe Pro, etc.).
Partner with leadership and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver system enhancements.
Lead end-to-end project management for all Salesforce enhancements, including requirements gathering, prioritization, solution design, stakeholder alignment, testing, deployment, and post-launch adoption.
Lead governance and steering committee processes to guide platform evolution.
Drive Salesforce adoption, data quality improvements, data enhancement, and business process optimization.
Develop documentation, business processes, best practices, and user training programs.
Platform Administration & Optimization
Oversee platform maintenance, releases, storage management, and license optimization.
Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and security.
Provide advanced user support and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to Salesforce and connected tools.
Oversee vendors doing project work in the ecosystem.
Reporting & Analytics
Design and maintain internal CRM dashboards and reports to support fundraising, communications, programs, and operations.
Data hygiene of CRM: de-dupes of leads/contacts, data enhancement of key account/contact fields
Building out API and SFTP integrations with Salesforce products
Architect custom fields for seamless analytics and reporting end uses
Manage data feeds and integrations for business intelligence and data analysis projects, including Salesforce and Marketing Cloud APIs
Salesforce Integrations
Own Salesforce integration strategy.
Oversee development of integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Salesforce APIs, Marketing Cloud Automation Studio, Azure resources, and custom code.
Serve as primary liaison to integration vendors.
Manage integration development resources (internal or external).
Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and document resolutions.
Leadership & Collaboration
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of Salesforce administration experience
Demonstrated experience owning CRM strategy and driving user adoption
Strong expertise in Salesforce configuration, customization, and reporting
Experience designing and supporting enterprise system integrations
Workday implementation and integration experience (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors)
Experience with building API calls to Salesforce and Marketing Cloud
Proficiency with scripting/coding languages including Apex, and R
Experience with Azure Blob or similar cloud storage technology, Cyberduck or similar SFTP tool, SOQL, MySQL or similar database technologies.
Proven project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication abilities
Experience working with and managing vendors and contractors.
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce Administrator and Advanced Administrator certifications
Sales Cloud Consultant or Platform App Builder certification
Workday certifications
Experience in nonprofit or global organizations
Location
We are a remote-ready company with team members around the globe. Our beautiful and welcoming offices are available for meetings or focused work, whether you are traveling through or living nearby. Our U.S. offices are in New York City; Washington DC; Oakland, California; Boulder, Colorado, and Basalt, Colorado. This role can be located from anywhere in the continental United States.

We love seeing each other in person! We occasionally gather for shared time together like retreats and learning experiences. Be ready to travel for occasional in-person meetings (and of course, we cover travel costs). Some roles may require more travel, which will be discussed during the hiring process.
Compensation
At RMI, we prioritize fairness in our pay practices. Salaries are determined based on a mix of experience, market benchmarks, and internal equity across similar roles. The salary range of this position is $90,550-$111,600. New hires typically start toward the lower end of the range, depending on experience and alignment with the role’s scope. In addition to base salary, this position includes an annual bonus target of 10% and eligibility for merit-based increases, which are tied to both individual and organizational performance.
