About This Role
Alumni Ventures (AV) is seeking a Senior Associate to join one of our investment teams. They will be responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, managing end-to-end investment processes, and supporting ongoing portfolio management. Alumni Ventures invests across multiple sectors with a focus on Seed and Series A/B opportunities, and this position is ideal for a versatile, generalist investment professional.
In addition, the Senior Associate will help research and evaluate potential investment strategies, as well as develop and maintain relationships with portfolio companies and co-investing venture firms. As a co-investor investing alongside leading venture funds, Alumni Ventures relies on this role to identify high-quality opportunities and help shape annual portfolios comprising approximately 20–30 venture investments per fund.
This is a hybrid role with an expectation of M/T/Th/F in the office.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and research potential investment strategies and develop and maintain the pipeline of investment opportunities within those themes.
- Conduct outreach to VCs, entrepreneurs, incubators, and more to help fill our deal pipeline with prospects. The ability to source relevant investment opportunities will be critical.
- Vet potential deal opportunities that align with AV’s investment mandate, including interviewing company teams, competitors, customers, etc.
- Present companies and work closely and collaboratively with the Managing Partner and other teams within AV.
- Educate deal sources and companies/entrepreneurs about AV and our investment process, and effectively manage relationships in a professional, courteous manner.
- Develop investment memos and execute the investment process
- Assist in the monitoring of existing investments and support existing founders in the portfolio across a variety of efforts
- Maintain fund performance metrics in close collaboration with AV back office and finance support
- Develop and maintain proprietary deal and market intelligence
- Contribute positively to Alumni Ventures' culture
Who You Are
- 3 to 5 plus years of work experience in consulting, banking, private equity, and/or a startup
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with AI tools or platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Gemini, etc.)
- Ability to evaluate and integrate AI tools to enhance team workflows or decision-making
The Sr. Associate role (Levels 1 and 2) has a salary range of $150,000 to $160,000, depending on level and experience. Total compensation also includes equity participation, potential carried interest, an annual corporate bonus, and standard company benefits.”
