Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will elevate the visibility of LinkedIn’s engineering capabilities in India, with a focus on telling LinkedIn’s technology story through top tier earned media tech outlets, as well as creative owned content strategies and thought leadership for local technical leaders. Key storytelling focus areas include AI/Generative AI, the technology and engineering talent behind our products, and showcasing that LinkedIn is a great place to work for engineers to attract top talent. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented communicator with strong media relationships and a deep understanding of the tech landscape in India. They will also have experience working in complex global companies with international stakeholders working across different timezones.

This role is part of the global engineering comms team and at times, will be required to support where needed on international eng comms moments or activities The role will also work closely with our India comms lead given the local market will be the focus of their role. Here, they will be expected to work in lock step with and ensure cohesion and consistency across India comms activity, as well as support on the broader R&D narrative in India.

This will be a fixed term contract for 1 year.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications & Content Development

Develop and manage the India Engineering comms strategy and support on R&D innovation narrative, including talent initiatives.
Work with the global eng comms team to ensure India content is featured in overall eng comms work and local narrative is part of global work where appropriate.
Deliver quarterly activity reports to Eng leadership, TA, and local engineering leadership on India activity.
Ability to work with the local comms team to support wider business strategies with engineering comms activity

Earned Media & PR Management

Own relationships with key technical media in India and collaborate with the India Comms Lead on tier-one tech media strategy.
Manage proactive press calendar and earned media efforts for engineering comms in India across tech, HR, and business outlets.
Drive story mining and media relations in India to increase earned media KPIs (6–12 stories per quarter).
Manage external PR agency for tech/engineering work, including monthly priorities.
Partner with local comms lead and support on global campaigns in India when needed.

Executive Profiling, Thought Leadership and Content Development

Identify and lead Tier 1 external speaking engagements for local engineering and when required product executives
Develop and run thought leadership platform for local Head of Engineering
Develop on-platform content for key local engineering leaders when required
Manage press activity for visiting global engineering leadership
Lead content creation for the India Engineering blog, increasing output by 3–6 posts per quarter focused on Indian innovation and support on additional global eng comms reviews where needed.
Review and support global engineering content (blogs, speaker decks, talent materials) for relevance to India and support global eng comms team on global reviews where needed,
Support on creative activations and owned content such as video content and interesting LinkedIn first activity

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of PR or external communications experience.
Minimum 2 years focused on tech sector communications, ideally in social media or consumer tech.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders across different timezones
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong media relationships in India, especially in tech, HR, marketing, and national press.
Excellent understanding of technical content and experience working with engineers
Ability to lead and run a program or work stream
Experience working in a global company with a matrix structure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage projects in fast-paced environments.
Deep understanding of PR planning and execution.
High integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Strong internal and external relationship-building skills.
Ability to develop interesting content to support our comms goals
