The Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation (SGBFF) works to build a more equal and resilient world. We bring people together to support each other through four initiatives: LeanIn.Org, LeanInGirls.Org, OptionB.Org, and the Dave Goldberg Scholarship Program.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Designer / Design Director to personally design and shape our digital, program, and brand work while guiding the evolution of our broader design practice. This is a hands-on creative leadership role for someone who actively designs— concepting, crafting, and executing—while also setting direction, building systems, and mentoring others. You will be directly responsible for designing high-impact work across digital platforms, marketing campaigns, learning experiences, and emerging AI-powered products.
In this role, you will both design and guide execution, working closely with an internal designer and a network of contractors. You will also play a hands-on role in shaping how our organization uses Generative AI in creative work—experimenting, designing, and building workflows yourself, while establishing principles, tools, and processes that integrate AI thoughtfully into our design practice.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual and strategic designer who enjoys both defining systems and actively designing themselves – you can expect approximately 75% of this role to be hands-on design work, with the remaining 25% focused on oversight and guidance. You are comfortable leading people, collaborating cross-functionally, and experimenting with new technologies to push creative and learning experiences forward.
