About the Senior Digital & Communications Specialist for France

The Senior Digital Campaigner & Communications Specialist will work as a member of the France team. They will be responsible for growing, engaging and inspiring our network of digital followers and supporters in France, in pursuit of our goal to stop fossil fuel expansion and increase the scale-up for renewables. The Senior Digital Campaigner & Communications Specialist will also be responsible for producing and disseminating communications content to amplify 350’s campaigns and mobilizations in the media, in France, and to the same extent in Europe. They will also be responsible for managing 350’s France social media channels by regularly producing and posting creative content to reach a wide range of audiences.

The Senior Digital Campaigner & Communications Specialist will actively provide support for growing the 350's influence, income, and impact in France. This includes driving local supporter growth, visibility, alliances, and fundraising.


Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in campaigning in grassroots groups, civil society organisations or any other setting relevant to the nature of this role
  • Must embrace the principles of justice, diversity and inclusion, and ensure they are central to the team’s work
  • Good command of some or all of the digital tools used by 350.org (e.g., ActionKit, WordPress, NewMode, Meta Ads Manager, Canva, Facebook, Bluesky, Instagram), and experience of using such tools in campaigns and supporter engagement
  • Significant experience in developing and delivering written, verbal, and/or visual content, as well as user journeys for online supporters
  • Proven track record in creating effective campaign communications reaching new audiences
  • Proven track record in creating high-quality content for media
  • Proven track record in leading media relations at campaign events
  • Experience in organising press conferences
  • Strong media contact networks and strong knowledge of the media landscape in France and Europe
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and stories in a simple and easy-to-understand way
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes and a limited budget.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment and in multicultural teams in multiple time zones, and familiarity with online collaboration tools and virtual meeting tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Docs, etc).

Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Strong alignment with 350.org's mission to challenge the power of the fossil fuel industry and to boost a just energy transition and understanding of the intersection of climate issues with economic and social justice, and racial justice
  • Understanding of the French political and parliamentary landscape
  • Project management in a diverse environment- coordinating global, remotely-based people around the world.
  • Experience collaborating with international teams on global campaigns.
  • Previous experience with Communications in a non-profit
  • Understanding of social media analytics and conversion metrics
  • Experience with digital advertising
  • Experience or expertise with professional photography or video production
  • Experience of using media monitoring and CMS tools desirable (eg, Cision, Meltwater, Factiva, Muckrack, etc)
  • Proven ability to maintain a healthy work/life balance in fast-paced, high-pressure working environments

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.


Position Type: Full Time (36 hours per week)

Start Date: 16 March 2026 (flexible)

Compensation: 2.1, with an annual gross salary of EUR 57259.

Benefits: In addition to a fully remote, 36-hour work week and two all-staff breaks per year, we offer a suite of comprehensive benefits - details depend on the location of the role, but we generally aim for employees to receive high-quality health insurance and retirement planning benefits in their respective location.

Location: Remote role, based anywhere in France, with frequent travel to Paris.
