Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are looking for an Financial Accountant to join our Global Accounting and Reporting team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to prepare and provide support to LinkedIn APAC’s annual statutory audits, local India regulatory reporting and compliance operations; as well as to support LinkedIn HQ’s US GAAP monthly and quarterly close and reporting processes. You will have an incredible opportunity for a highly motivated accountant to utilize their analytical skill and accounting expertise to provide support to the accounting operations, expand on knowledge and experience, and contribute to a fast paced and exciting organization.

You will work closely with multiple global stakeholders, including payroll, accounts payable, revenue reporting, tax, indirect tax, FP&A, Corporate HQ, as well as external outsourced service providers, statutory auditors, tax agents, banks, legal counsels & other professional advisers. In addition, you will gain significant exposure to US GAAP, IFRS and local INDAS GAAP reporting and contribute to a culture of excellence in financial compliance and analytics.

Responsibilities:

Prepare year-end statutory financial statements compliant to IFRS, INDAS, including collaboration with the different internal business partners and external stakeholders (outsourced services providers and statutory auditors, corporate secretarial offices). Prepare required audit schedules and support in advance of statutory audit, including detailed analytic review of the entity level financials. Guide the auditors through all stages of the audit and answer all their queries.

Prepare and support India regulatory local Treasury, Legal and Export operations such as:

Prepare and support India registrations, reporting and filing requirements such as

STPI regulations: to monitor and liaise with India banks to close Export Data Processing and Monitoring System (EDPMS) online in ensuring properly compliance on Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) on any export transactions

MCA regulations: Prepare and support the filing of Foreign Liabilities & Assets (FLA) declaration returns and XBRL filings, including liaison with legal counsel stakeholders.

Assist and support corporate legal team (HQ) on administrating any local compliance execution

Prepare and initiate foreign currency settlement of India intercompany payables and support on bank queries (if any)

Prepare and initiate India intercompany matrix of export invoices against cash receipts and support on bank queries

Take full ownership of the accuracy of financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet) for a medium size entity in APAC

Complete accurate month-end and quarter-end close under US GAAP within the required deadlines, including managing outsourced processing service providers

Support and review the accuracy of accounting journal entries consistent with LinkedIn’s accounting policies

Support and review the accuracy and compliance of Blackline reconciliations

Develop a sound understanding of the business drivers behind the entity’s performance and deliver financial commentary on P&L and BS movements

Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Oracle ERP and constantly seek to optimize processes

Assess risks over accounts and areas of responsibility. Review financial integrity of accounting accuracy and operating effectiveness.

Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) at regular intervals and identify and recommend changes to policies and procedures based on global best practices and changes in our business as required, and constantly seek to optimize processes

Manage ad-hoc projects and UATs and collaborate with cross-functional teams in delivering high quality, decision ready information to our business partners

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Experience in working as a Chartered Accountant (CA)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
Experience in handling at least 5 years of relevant roles in accounting, finance, or audit
Experience in using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for financial tasks and reporting
Background in applying accounting standards such as US GAAP and INDAS
Experience in statutory and tax audits, with a minimum of 3 years dealing directly with or acting as an auditor

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest and strong proficiency in leveraging automation tools and technologies
Experience dealing as/with auditors on tax / transfer pricing audits
Accounting standards technical accounting expertise on IFRS
Experience in project management and capable of administering simultaneous tasks
Ability to work in a cross-functional, multi-currency, fluid environment to lead complex operational initiatives, with problem-solving abilities in a business partnering capacity across geography and cultures
Proficiency in using ERP systems such as Oracle, Blackline, SAP
