The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (Global Energy Alliance) The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (Global Energy Alliance) works for a world where everyone has access to affordable, reliable, clean electricity and the means to use it to improve their lives. Our Alliance builds transformative public, private, philanthropic partnerships to end energy poverty and accelerate green economic opportunity. Founded in 2021 by The Rockefeller Foundation, IKEA Foundation, and Bezos Earth Fund, we design innovative projects/programs, unlock finance, strengthen institutions and transform markets, delivering progress anchored in deep community engagement. By uniting actors across the value chain, from households to heads of state, we go beyond individual projects to drive lasting systems change. With work in more than 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, our Alliance aims to reach 1 billion people with clean electricity, prevent 4 billion tons of carbon emissions and create or improve 150 million jobs.

Opportunity Summary

In Latin America and the Caribbean, the Alliance is not just funding projects; we are building alliances that connect national ambition with the funding needed to power inclusive growth, strengthen resilience, and unlock a green economy. Our work ranges from using clean energy to power livelihoods in the Amazon to advancing aggregated battery storage solutions across the Caribbean.

We are looking for a sophisticated, outcome-oriented Senior Fundraising Consultant who knows where the "less-obvious" money is in the region—the local wealth that is keen to invest in the future of energy. This is a role for a proven rainmaker who can leverage existing local networks and unlock capital from sources like family offices, corporate CSR/sustainability funds, local foundations, and high-net-worth individuals who are often overlooked by traditional international NGOs.

You will be the architect of Global Energy Alliance or Energy Alliance’s LAC-focused philanthropic strategy. This is an intense, six-month consultancy (that may be extended) designed to deliver immediate ecosystem intelligence and a practical, sequenced fundraising plan. Your main goal is to map, connect, and activate a pipeline of six-, seven-, and eight-figure commitments from regional and local funders who align with our priorities.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  1. Map the Non-Traditional Wealth Ecosystem:
    • Deep Prospect Intelligence: Identify and maintain a live database of LAC-based and LAC-focused family offices, corporate foundations, philanthropic intermediaries, and HNWIs relevant to clean energy, resilience, and economic access.
    • Market Strategy: Design a practical, sequenced philanthropic strategy and implementation plan focused on activating this local wealth.
  2. Activate High-Quality Funding Pipeline:
    • Door Opening: Leverage your existing relationships or proven ability to quickly build new ones to generate qualified, high-value introductions for GEAPP’s LAC program leads.
    • Targeted Outreach: Tailor engagement materials and pitch decks for diverse funder profiles—from corporate foundations interested in supply-chain resilience to family offices focused on climate innovation.
    • Pipeline Management: Establish and manage a clear CRM/tracker to monitor prospects, next actions, and revenue forecasts, ensuring a strong base for future team execution.
  3. Drive Strategic Co-Financing & Intelligence:
    • Proposal Development: Co-develop concise concept notes and proposals, aligning GEAPP's programmatic priorities (Amazon PUE, Caribbean BESS, regional coalitions) with local funder criteria.
    • Horizon Scanning: Track relevant calls for proposals (CFPs) from MDBs, DFIs, and bilaterals to identify co-financing and blended finance opportunities that can amplify philanthropic capital.
  4. Strategic Integration & Leadership:
    • Serve as the senior advisor on LAC philanthropic and co-financing market intelligence, helping to shape the Alliance’s regional strategy and country approaches.
    • Plan and coordinate up to two high-impact donor convenings/roundtables and two regional events to advance fundraising objectives and position the Alliance as a thought leader in LAC clean-energy philanthropy.

Who You Are
You are a strategic thinker with a bias for action and an unrivaled network. You thrive in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment and possess a deep cultural fluency in the region.

  • Experience: 10+ years in fundraising, partnerships, or resource mobilization, with at least 5 years focused on the LAC philanthropic/co-financing landscape. You have a demonstrated track record of securing multi-year, six- or seven-figure commitments.
  • Sector Knowledge: Working knowledge of the climate, clean energy, or sustainable development sectors in LAC, with an understanding of energy access, reliability solutions, and green economy trends.
  • Language & Cultural Fluency: Professional fluency in English and Spanish is essential. High cultural fluency across the region is a must.

This is a unique opportunity to use your fundraising expertise to accelerate one of the most critical energy transitions in the world, directly impacting both climate action and economic opportunity for millions.

Compensation & Location
We are committed to transparent and equitable compensation practices and understand that providing a clear salary or fee range is essential for both full-time and contract roles.

  • Compensation Context: For benchmarking purposes, the full-time equivalent salary for this scope of work would fall between $160,000–$180,000 USD annually if performed as a U.S.-based employee. This is shared only as a reference point for establishing a fair consulting rate.
  • Final Consulting Fee Will Be Based On:
    • Location & Market Rates: Fees will be aligned to the consultant’s regional market norms.
    • Expertise & Portfolio: Depth of experience, subject-matter expertise, and ability to deliver strategic value.
    • Defined Scope & Hours: Final rate will reflect expected weekly hours or total project deliverables, agreed upon in the contract.
  • Location: Fully remote. Consultant may be based anywhere in a major LAC city.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel within LAC and limited international travel for convenings or stakeholder meetings.
  • Contract Term: Initial 6-month consulting agreement, with potential extension based on performance and organizational needs.

Our Commitment to Equity
While we wish we could provide a single, exact fee range, the variable nature of this international contract role makes it challenging. However, we are committed to discussing compensation early in the process and ensuring the final fee is market-competitive and equitable based on the factors listed above. We believe this level of transparency is vital for a strong, trusting partnership.
