The Foundation

We are the largest nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world. Founded on a simple premise: people everywhere, regardless of identity or circumstances, should have the chance to live healthy, productive lives. We believe our employees should reflect the rich diversity of the global populations we aim to serve. We provide an exceptional benefits package to employees and their families which include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no premiums, generous paid time off, paid family leave, foundation-paid retirement contribution, regional holidays, and opportunities to engage in several employee communities. As a workplace, we’re committed to creating an environment for you to thrive both personally and professionally.

The Team

The India Country Office (ICO) is central to the foundation’s commitment to advancing equitable health outcomes and strengthening India’s health innovation ecosystem. The Health R&D team is a core enabler of the ICO’s key goals across our portfolio. The team advances Research & Development (R&D) and innovation across foundational research; medical devices, vaccines, and drugs, as well as data-science methods (modeling, AI-enabled tools). We approach this by accelerating R&D and the deployment of affordable, high-quality, accessible products, working with the Government of India at central and state level, academia, industry, and global networks.

Your Role

As Senior Manager, Product Introduction & Market Access, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for product introduction and market access for women’s health products and technologies. The core responsibility includes partnering with grantees (including pharma) to ensure products are successfully introduced and scaled within India’s public and private health markets.

Women’s Health Innovations (WHI) is focused on developing and accelerating the introduction and scale-up of interventions that disproportionately affect the health and economic outcomes of women. The women’s health innovation portfolio spans devices and therapeutics to improve both women’s health and maternal and neonatal outcomes, including novel contraceptives, therapies for heavy menstrual bleeding; maternal health products and novel STI diagnostics.

The role is based in New Delhi and reports to the Deputy Director, Health R&D, India Country Office, with a dotted line to WHI leadership in Seattle.

What You will Do

This is a highly collaborative role requiring close engagement with Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) in Seattle and teams across the ICO:

  • Lead and shape the foundation’s product introduction and market access strategy portfolio, ensuring products are designed, positioned, and supported for successful uptake within India’s health system.

  • Lead and execute product introduction strategies for priority devices and drug-device products spanning both public-sector (national programs, state-level rollouts) and private-sector channels in close coordination with Product Leads, PSTs, and cross-functional partners.

  • Drive go-to-market planning covering market research and analysis, manufacturing and supply partnerships, market access, procurement strategies, and demand generation.

  • Synthesize market and user insights, downstream adoption barriers, and health-system readiness into upstream development and planning, ensuring products are designed for the realities of low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) deployment.

  • Manage grantee and external partner relationships to achieve desired grant impact; hold grant/contract ownership for relevant projects within the portfolio.

  • Prepare written analyses, investment case evaluations, and leadership briefings, synthesizing evidence into actionable strategic insights.

  • Lead internal coordination across ICO and Seattle teams, ensuring operational efficiency and robust project management across a matrixed environment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Experience

  • Advanced degree in business, science, engineering, health sciences or other related fields is required.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ senior-level experience spanning product introduction/commercialization, preference for experience in pharmaceutical, medical device in India and/or LMIC contexts (particularly in Africa).

  • Proven experience in product introduction and go-to-market execution in complex, resource-limited settings: market access, procurement architecture, supply chain strategy, demand generation, and public-private channel management.

  • Familiarity with India’s health product policy ecosystem and relevant regulatory agencies (India regulator, Indian council of medical research); comfort navigating global expectations including ICH-aligned quality standards and WHO-linked regulatory pathways.

  • Program and/or project management capabilities; from workplan concept development through Implementation, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex technical and commercial evidence into concise, actionable insights for senior leadership and external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across a matrixed and diverse environment; strong collaboration, consultative, and negotiation skills with government, industry, donors, and global partners.

  • Commercially astute, results-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to inspire pursuit of excellence across teams and grantees.

  • Growth mindset curious about innovative approaches, comfortable with ambiguity, willing to seek feedback and course-correct.

Other Attributes

  • Comfortable in a wide range of cultural, geographic, and operational situations, demonstrating culturally sensitive behavior with a diverse range of people and a deep commitment to development issues and high standards of personal integrity.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time domestically and internationally.

*Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.

Application deadline: 24 June 2026
