About the Team
Mobile for Development (M4D) is a dedicated global team within the GSMA, which brings together our mobile operator members, tech innovators, the development community and governments, to prove the power of mobile in underserved markets. We identify opportunities and deliver innovations with socio-economic impact that tackle the challenges of digital and financial inclusion, gender equality, climate and humanitarian action, agriculture and utility service provision.
About the Role
The Senior Marketing Manager for Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation (M4H) is responsible for strategically planning and delivering all marketing and communications for the programme. This can include but is not limited to the design and production of publications, video content, landing pages, websites, event material and offline collateral, along with promotion of these to reach relevant audiences utilising all channels, content types and media available to the organisation. Success in this role will involve successfully planning and delivering major programme outputs, supported by multi-channel marketing campaigns, based on data-driven decision making. The role has one direct report, a Marketing Specialist, that supports two other Mobile for Development programmes.
About You
• You will have significant marketing experience across all channels, including digital, social media, email, search engine marketing, events and printed or physical collateral
• You will have notable experience planning and delivering significant marketing outputs utilising moderate budgets to achieve specific KPIs, under strict deadlines
• You will have a strong understanding of defining and categorising audience demographics, and characteristics, alongside the utilisation of targeting techniques
• You will have demonstrable experience of developing and producing content across a range of formats, including but not limited to PDF documents, videos, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, promotional imagery and infographics
• You may have experience in managing direct reports
• You will have extensive experience in tracking, analysing and extracting data regarding marketing performance metrics, with an ability to interpret information and provide recommendations and conclusions, leading to specific outcomes
• You will have expansive knowledge and experience of working with and managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, teams which in some cases may be geographically dispersed, and agencies, at differing levels with competing demands and requirements
• You will possess the ability to interpret complex, technical information and be able to express it clearly, in a simplified and comprehensible manner
• You may have an interest in the development sector, in advocacy and an understanding of mobile technology and digital innovation
• You will have impeccable written and verbal communication skills including content review and copy editing
• You may have experience in design with appropriate software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
• You will have in-depth knowledge of WordPress, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and GA4 or equivalent systems and software
