Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to support LinkedIn’s internal Identity Platform. This is a core engineering role involved in developing, deploying and operating foundational identity security tools and infrastructure. This role emphasizes automation and scalability of critical identity services, including Active Directory, Entra, Okta, SailPoint, and VDS. The ideal candidate brings a strong software engineering background, combined with knowledge of identity protocols and platform reliability.
Securing workforce identity is foundational to protecting LinkedIn’s enterprise infrastructure and ensuring operational continuity. The Corporate Identity team builds and operates the critical authentication, authorization, and identity governance platforms that underpin access to LinkedIn’s internal systems and services. We own and scale core platforms such as Active Directory, Okta, Entra, SailPoint, and Privileged Access Management, and deliver secure-by-default experiences that empower productivity without compromising security.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help shape the next generation of our internal identity platform. You will build automation, reliability, and self-service capabilities to modernize how LinkedIn manages workforce identity at scale. You’ll work across engineering, security, and IT teams to deliver resilient, scalable solutions that enable zero-trust architecture, improves authentication and Authorization. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to foundational infrastructure that impacts every LinkedIn employee, partner, and system.
This role will be based in Bangalore, India.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable, secure, and intuitive platforms for Identity services.
Develop APIs and automation workflows to integrate with platforms like Okta, SailPoint, Active Directory, Entra ID, and internal service catalogs.
Develop internal tools, scripts, and APIs to reduce manual operations and improve reliability
Partner with SMEs to improve observability, SLO tracking, and alerting for foundational services
Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call rotation, and contribute to postmortems
Contribute to code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices for secure and scalable delivery
You will drive rapid product innovation and delivery while maintaining engineering excellence
You will embrace and champion engineering best practices
You will produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years experience programming experience in Java and/or Python.
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
Experience with identity protocols: SAML, SCIM, OAuth, LDAP
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity in building identity automation pipelines.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Graphana, Prometheus etc.
Hands-on experience with at least one major identity system: Okta, Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), or SailPoint.
Hands on knowledge on CI/CD, REST APIs, and infrastructure as code (Temporal)
Understanding of zero-trust models, JIT access, or PAM concepts
Strong debugging and production support skill
