Web Summit
On-site
Dublin

About us:

How did Web Summit become, in the words of Forbes, “the best tech conference on the planet”? Meaningful connections. Our tech events are unmissable because we make it easier for the right people to meet and connect. Everyone at Web Summit works towards this goal.

And we’re just getting started.

We’re always looking to build on the impact we have already made at Web Summit. In the coming years we’ll take Web Summit to new markets, promoting global connectivity, highlighting important issues and connecting global leaders – all while making a positive impact on the environment and communities we encounter.

To build a better company, we have to better ourselves. We do that by finding the most ambitious people to work with us.

We’re looking for a social media coordinator to join our growing international marketing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career professional who is a platform native, fluent in the latest trends and passionate about community building and content creation. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our brand maintains a consistent, engaging and positive presence across all key social channels.

  • Creative: You’ll ensure our visual stories are always ready to go and perfectly aligned with our mission. You’ll help organise our vast library of world-class digital assets and maintain a seamless content calendar.
  • Reporting and analytics: You’ll stay ahead of emerging tech trends and social tools, turning fresh insights into creative ideas that keep Web Summit at the forefront of the global tech conversation.
  • Engagement: Act as the voice of the brand by monitoring social channels and promptly responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions with a professional and friendly tone.
  • Moderation: Manage user-generated content (UGC) and flag any negative or sensitive comments for the Social Media Manager.

Skills we like to see:
  • Education: Education in marketing communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience, which can include internships, co-ops, or academic projects focused on social media management.
  • Platform Proficiency: Knowledge of social media platforms, including their features, best practices, and limitations.

  • Exceptional communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
  • Creative mindset: A strong eye for visually appealing content and the ability to think creatively about how to translate brand messaging into engaging social posts.
  • High initiative: Proactive, self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Data-curious: A desire to learn analytics and use data to inform content decisions.
