Position summary

The Technical Solutions Architect drives the solution development process during capture and proposal activities for new opportunities and recompetes. This position works closely with Client Solutions Managers, Proposal Managers, and delivery teams to design innovative, compliant, and competitive solutions for federal, state, and local RFPs, RFQs, and contract vehicles.

This role requires strong analytical, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills to translate complex technical solutions into clear, compelling, and compliant proposal content. The Technical Solutions Architect ensures that Nava’s solutions are aligned with customer needs, government compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, Section 508), and industry best practices in human-centered design, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, among others.



What you’ll do

  • Lead the development of technical solutions for federal, state, and local RFPs, RFQs, and white papers.
  • Work closely with Client Solutions Managers, Proposal Managers and Writers, and Subject Matter Experts to craft solutions aligned with customer challenges, mission needs, and contract requirements.
  • Architect secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that integrate Nava’s capabilities.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with government security, accessibility, and interoperability requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, Section 508).
  • Balance compliance, feasibility, and innovation to develop winning technical approaches.
  • Author and refine technical sections for proposals, including solution narratives, architecture diagrams, staffing approaches, and cost justifications.
  • Develop technical white papers, concept papers, and capability statements to support capture efforts.
  • Leverage AI/LLMs and automation tools to streamline technical writing while ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Participate in color team reviews to refine solution approaches and strengthen proposal responses.
  • In collaboration with Technical Writer(s), maintain a repository of reusable technical content to improve future proposal efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business development and delivery teams to shape Nava’s go-to-market strategy and identify emerging technical needs in the government IT space.
  • When appropriate, engage with government clients, partners, and subcontractors to align solutions with contract objectives and teaming arrangements.
  • Represent Nava’s technical capabilities in pre-solicitation engagements, industry days, and client meetings.
  • Support oral presentations and solution demonstrations for competitive procurements.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, AI advancements, cybersecurity best practices, and government IT trends.
  • Evaluate new tools and methodologies to enhance solutioning efficiency, compliance, and innovation.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives and help refine Nava’s technical solutioning playbook.

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in IT architecture, digital services, or technical solutioning, with at least 3+ years supporting proposals or capture efforts for government contracts (federal, state, or local)
  • Deep understanding of government procurement processes, including federal/state/local RFPs, RFQs, and contract vehicles (GSA, IDIQs, BPAs)
  • Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing proposal content that translates complex IT concepts into compelling, compliant narratives
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, Section 508, and other government security/compliance frameworks
  • Ability to balance compliance, feasibility, and innovation in solution design
  • Experience engaging with government stakeholders, proposal teams, and partners/subcontractors to refine technical solutions

Desired skills

  • Prior experience as a Technical Solution Architect at a large systems integrators, with demonstrated success architecting and winning large-scale, full-lifecycle integration programs
  • Proven ability to design and articulate integrated, multi-domain solutions spanning infrastructure, applications, data, and managed services in response to large-scale, competitive procurement opportunities
  • Familiarity with human-centered design, open-source technologies, modular contracting principles, cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), cybersecurity, DevSecOps, Human-centered Design, and AI-powered automation
  • Prior experience in technical writing, AI-enhanced solutioning, and automation tools
Compensation
$143,000$153,000 USD

Legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
