The team and role:
Behind every speaker confirmed for Web Summit is a mountain of research, flawless logistics, and relentless follow-up. As a Speaker Producer, you will be the foundation of how we acquire our global speakers. Acquisition is the focus!
You will learn how to identify the next big thing, how to bypass gatekeepers, and how to manage the egos and expectations of the world’s elite. Your goal is to a subject expert in a tech field and acquire the biggest names in that area to speak on our stages.
\nOutreach: Draft compelling, high-level correspondence. You’ll be responsible for the first wave of outreach and keeping the momentum alive in long-lead threads.
Administrative Excellence: Manage speaker data and acquisition workflows, ensuring the business has total visibility on your work and your progress
Briefing & Preparation: Create ‘Speaker Dossiers’ for our leadership team, ensuring that when we get a meeting with a VIP, we know everything about them.
Meet and exceed clear targets for acquiring Speakers, as well as for taking all the steps required to get the best voices on our stages
A natural networker: You love to grow your network, engage with new audiences, and move in the right circles, that will help you attract top speaker talent to our events.
Eager & Scrappy: You don't wait to be told what to do. You see a gap, and you fill it. You have hustle genes, but are currently looking for the mentorship to refine them.
Unflappable: You can handle a fast-paced environment where priorities shift every hour. You take feedback well and view "not yet" as a challenge, not a defeat.
Communication: Exceptional writing skills. You must be able to sound professional, persuasive, and succinct.
Tech Savvy: Can use tools like LinkedIn, CRMs, and finding info in the dark corners of the web. You also love toying with the latest AI and LLM to automate your research and work.
Curiosity: Willingness to learn, ask questions, and scale skills quickly.
Personality: High Social IQ. You need to be someone people enjoy working with, even under intense pressure.
