Job Title: Special Events Operations Specialist


Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research ("the Foundation") is seeking top talent for its Special Events Operations Specialist.  Reporting to the Director of Special Events, this position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data across a growing portfolio of complex special events. This position will be responsible for maintaining real-time updates, facilitating cross-departmental communication, and ensuring information is accurately reflected in the Foundation’s CRM. 

This is a hybrid-flex position that will require in-person attendance at The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s headquarters in New York City.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with events leads to support the management and maintenance of special events attendee and fundraising lists, ensuring all attendee updates and ticket purchases are accurately reflected across reports and translated correctly in the Foundation’s CRM in accordance with established data standards, workflows, and reporting requirements 
  • Partner with fundraising analytics and fundraising operations teams to support accurate and timely event-related revenue reporting by validating data inputs and resolving discrepancies within defined guidelines  
  • Collaborate with event and fundraising leads to ensure accurate, timely information sharing and thorough attendee data capture, including event history, soft credits, and constituent relationships by applying established CRM practices and escalating complex data issues appropriately 
  • Collaborate with the fundraising operations team to support event campaign setup and ongoing data integrity activities by executing defined processes and coordinating with Fundraising Operations on required updates or corrections  
  • Liaise with donor services and finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of gifts 
  • Work with event leads, prospecting and fundraising teams to support the development of event-specific materials, including briefers, look books, and related resources by compiling and updating information from existing sources 
  • Support ticketing platform through site creation, updates, maintenance, and data quality oversight to ensure accurate reporting using established templates, configurations, and approval processes and escalating system-level issues as needed 


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficient in database management, preferably Salesforce 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Comfortable with data and analytics for special events and fundraising purposes, decision-making deftness, and the ability to problem-solve in a dynamic environment 
  • Ability to take initiative and incredible attention to detail 
  • Possess excellent time management, organization skills 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment 
  • Enthusiasm for being a hands-on team player with aspects of event preparation 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits
Individual compensation for this role is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, skillsets, and applicable laws.  In addition to salary, the Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Salary Range
$65,000$75,000 USD
