ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The People & Culture (P&C) team operates with a Business Partner/Center of Expertise (CoE) model. This Specialist role is a member of the P&C Partner (i.e., Business Partner) team. The Specialist, P&C Partner, works closely with the P&C Partners and collaborates with colleagues in the P&C Centers of Expertise and interacts with a wide range of employees across the organization. The person in this role provides administrative support to enable smooth operation and coordination of the P&C Partner team objectives. The Specialist, People and Culture reports to the Global Director, People and Culture.
The People and Culture Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day P&C functions related to:
Workforce planning
Employee relations
Performance management
Onboarding and offboarding
Employee engagement and events
General policies design and development
Reporting and data analysis
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Provide support to the Global Director, P&C, including calendar and expense management, and support with other administrative tasks
Support the P&C Partners team in administrative tasks, including staff contract extensions, record updates, and document retention
Responsible for onboarding and offboarding of employees, i.e., scheduling onboarding meetings, conducting onboarding sessions, and working with managers to support the offboarding process
Coordinate with the P&C Centers of Expertise and other functional teams (Finance, Legal, and IT teams) to ensure transactions and documentation are current, timely, and accurate
Support with aligning P&C practices for consistency and equitable implementation across global offices
Support the P&C Partners team in regular employee handbook updates, rollout, and orientation
Oversee the staff performance management processes and assist staff and managers as needed
Support the P&C Partner team on the design and development of strategies to champion organizational culture, employee experience, and relations
Oversee and project-manage the P&C Partner team’s annual objectives and deliverables
Prepare data analytics and reports to support business solutions
Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
4 years of experience working within an in-house human resources or in an administrative support role
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly establish and build trusted working relationships with staff across the organization to maintain confidence and inspire trust
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to work in diverse teams with shared responsibility and accountability
Strong data analysis skills
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience in HR Information Systems (Workday, ADP, or other HCM systems)
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
HELPFUL BUT NOT REQUIRED
Strong understanding and experience of social, economic, and cultural issues and contexts in the U.S. and globally
Familiarity with philanthropy, foundations and the nonprofit sector
A global perspective gained through international work experience
Fluency in a language other than English spoken in one or more of Ford’s regional offices
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is primarily a sedentary role. However, the person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer.

SALARY: The Ford Foundation is committed to salary transparency. The salary for this position is $103,000. We review global compensation regularly to ensure market competitiveness and equity.
LOCATION: This position is based in the foundation’s New York office. We operate in a hybrid model and require staff to be in the office three days per week.
WORK AUTHORIZATION: This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
