Job Description

LinkedIn is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst – US to oversee accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processing for our multi-state U.S. workforce. This role plays a key part in ensuring payroll accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving process improvements and special projects within our payroll operations.

As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will manage complex payroll processing activities, including processing equity compensation, performing reconciliations, conducting audits, preparing reports, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to resolve payroll issues. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations.

Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly payroll for over 10,000 U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy for hourly and salaried employees, new hires, terminations, retroactive adjustments, commissions, bonuses, and one-time payments.
Conduct payroll audits, prepare compliant termination payments in accordance with state laws, and ensure adherence to corporate policies, payroll regulations, and tax requirements.
Provide employee support by resolving payroll cases with accuracy and empathy, ensuring SLA adherence and positive employee experience.
Partner with Employment Tax to assess compliance risks, support audits, and contribute to strategic initiatives impacting payroll operations.
Process stock-based compensation and prepare relevant reconciliations and support.
Generate and maintain standard and ad hoc payroll reports, documentation, and knowledge articles to support operational excellence
Identify and implement process improvements, support special projects, and provide analysis and reconciliation for payroll inquiries.

Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional business partners to resolve payroll issues with proactiveness and ensure SLA compliance.
Maintain current knowledge of US labor laws, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
5+ years of multi-state US payroll experience
5+ years of analytical and Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF statements) with the ability to manage large data sets.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in payroll systems including Workday, ADP GlobalView , ADP Smart Compliance, and reporting tools.
Strong understanding of US payroll, tax withholding, and compliance obligations.
FPC or CPP certification.
Experience with international payrolls and equity compensation.
Strong judgment to proactively identify and escalate issues.
Self-starter who works independently while collaborating effectively in a team.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and results-driven.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
English fluency - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across cultures and functions.
Proven ability to deliver accurate and timely payroll in high-volume, multi-jurisdiction environments.
Demonstrated discretion, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
