The Role
We are seeking a Manager who can provide strategy, technical, and project management support to two programs in India. They will have strong problem-solving capabilities, be able to work independently, and effectively manage relationships across multiple teams. This role will be report to the Director, Programs.
She/he will contribute to the success of our programming in India by actively supporting program strategy development, team coordination, and the development of key external outputs. They will provide consistent, high-quality support for DTW and IFA programs in India to ensure we improve program quality and achieve our collective goals.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Technical Support
- Significantly contribute to the iteration of DTW and IFA’s program strategies to achieve long-term goals and address key programmatic bottlenecks.
- Ensure program strategies and approaches are aligned with the latest global guidance and evidence for the interventions we’re supporting.
- Support the design of tools and approaches to effectively implement program strategies.
- Serve as a key point of connection between EAII and EA Global technical teams, ensuring strategies reflect program realities as well as global best practices.
Project Management & Operations
- Collaborate with DTW and IFA program leads across the global and India teams on the timely design and execution of the programs’ delivery models, including:
- Defining and refining key program milestones, targets, and activities.
- Monitoring progress by creating and updating work plans (both annual and project-specific), budgets, risk assessments, roles and responsibility matrices, and other program management tools.
- Closely coordinating with the India team and cross-cutting functional teams (including MLE, cost-effectiveness, grants, finance, and communications) through regular check-in calls to ensure cohesive achievement of program priorities and outcomes.
- Conduct analysis on program data and draw out key insights and trends. Support building data dashboards and other data tools to support program learning and monitoring.
- Develop and review program templates and documents to monitor and advance key program activities.
- Implement knowledge management best practices to ensure that knowledge products from DTW and IFA are being retained and shared effectively.
External Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop dissemination plans, in consultation with the communications and MLE teams, to ensure program results are effectively shared with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop decks and reports that effectively summarize our program strategies and results for different technical and non-technical audiences, including donors and government partners.
- Support donor engagement, including supporting the donor reporting process for the India DTW and IFA programs.
- Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including implementing partners and donors as needed.
New Program Development
- Provide strategic inputs on the design and launch of new programs in India.
- Develop program budgets and collaborate closely with our cost effectiveness team to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximum impact.
- Bring strong project management skills, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach to building programs that create meaningful change.
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as public health, international development, public policy/administration, economics, statistics, or business, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated program management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, including the production and management of work plans
- Strong Analytical Skills: Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop strategic insights
- Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and develop innovative solutions
- Experience in effectively communicating and negotiating with, presenting to, and managing a variety of stakeholders in multicultural settings, including researchers, implementing partners, donors, and government officials
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate evidence-based programming and results to a non-technical audience clearly and succinctly. Adept at developing decks and documents for external use (e.g., case studies, reports, concept notes, articles/blog posts)
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, and the Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently, think creatively, handle ambiguity, and work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, while also proactively communicating relevant progress updates and bottlenecks requiring attention or support from leadership

- Ability to travel within India and internationally up to 30% of the time

- Experience working in the non-profit and/or international development sector

This role is based at New Delhi, India.
