Closing date: Sunday, 12 October 2025
Contract type: Part-Time

The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone.
We are looking for a Team Coordinator to join the Strategy Implementation team, within the wider Discovery Research (DR) team on a Part-Time basis (19.5 hour per week)
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
The Discovery Research team supports an ambitious portfolio of bold, innovative research aiming to transform our understanding of life, health and wellbeing. We fund researchers across fields, disciplines and career stages. And we're changing how research is done, through improved tools, technology, methods and culture. We are pursuing these goals through both open and directed funding for individuals and teams across a huge breadth of research topics – everything from genes and cells, to understanding the political and societal aspects of health.
This role will form part of the Strategy Implementation sub team within the wider Discovery Research Programme.
What will I be doing?
The successful candidate will provide proactive administrative support to a member of the DR management team, alongside coordinating wider team activities to ensure smooth running of the diverse activities for which the team is responsible. The candidate will work closely with the existing two team coordinators and with the EA to the Director of Discovery Research.
As a Team Coordinator, you will:
Provide proactive diary management and administrative support to a Head of Department within Discovery Research.
Lead on the planning and coordination of regular full team meetings, away days & socials, including scheduling, producing agendas and minutes and acting as point of liaison for DR and wider Wellcome colleagues.
Lead on adhoc admin projects such as arranging bespoke team training and the introduction and maintenance of new software tools to support the team’s work e.g. SharePoint
Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
Is this job for me?
We are looking for a candidate who possesses strong administrative experience, exemplified by their proficiency in managing complex calendars, and preparing agendas and paperwork for meetings. A candidate that takes initiative and meets deadlines is vital alongside good organisational skills. We’d love to work with a candidate that demonstrates the ability to work with people at all levels, including a high proficiency in both written and verbal communication
To apply for this role please submit an update CV and answer 2 application questions to demonstrate that you meet the minimum requirements for the role.
Minimum Criteria:
PA or administration experience
Advanced IT Skills – excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including SharePoint.
Ability to multi-task, prioritise, take initiative and work to deadlines.
