Salary: £34,800 (pro-rated)

We are looking for Visitor Experience & Engagement Facilitators to join our team on a permanent basis.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be working as part of the Visitor Experience & Engagement team at Wellcome Collection which is at the heart of Wellcome’s’ work.
The Visitor Experience & Engagement team is key to ensuring visitors engage with everything Wellcome Collection has to offer through a high-quality, interactive and multi-layered experience. This includes every stage of their contact, spanning pre-visit information and planning, in venue interaction and engagement, and post-visit communication and feedback.
What will I be doing?
Provide a consistently excellent experience, ensuring visitors behave a s safe and enjoyable visit.
Research, develop and deliver high quality and innovative engagement sessions including tours, talks and creative workshops that inspire curiosity and encourage audiences to reflect on to deepen society’s comprehension of life, health and wellbeing, considering the breadth of human experience.
Be an active ambassador for Wellcome, engaging the widest possible audience with the museum and library’s collection, exhibitions and themes as well as Wellcome’s work in science, research and innovations.
Fulfil back of house administrative duties, such as correspondence (feedback and enquiries_ and which may include group tour bookings, ticket sales, leaflet management information resource management and visitor insight reporting.
Invigilate the galleries, providing a ‘presence’ on post at all times, available to support visitor needs.
Proactively develop inclusion and diversity awareness and skills in order to facilitate access for all out visitors, acting in line with best practice.
Provide an interpretative role for visitors in gallery, encouraging interaction and engagement with the content, communicating its relevance in an engaging and informative way and answering questions as fully as possible.
As a Visitor Experience and Engagement Facilitator you will:
Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, working across departments.
Deliver a high level of service in a customer or visitor-focused environment.
Communicate scientific or complex information in an accessible and engaging manner tailored to specific audiences.
Learn and use a variety of IT packages and programmes.
Act as a fire marshal in case of emergency evacuation.
Communicate, including the ability to draft correspondence and present ideas and information across a variety of formats.
Is this job for me?
This role is ideal for individuals who have honed their skills in public-facing roles within customer or visitor-centric environments. It requires someone with significant experience in public speaking, facilitation, or teaching, who can manage varied tasks such as delivering engaging sessions and acting as a fire marshal during emergencies. The position demands flexibility to work on a rota basis across all days, including evenings and bank holidays, to meet operational requirements.
The role will suit those who possess the ability to communicate complex information creatively and accessibly, tailored to diverse audiences. Effective use of IT packages and undertaking administrative duties, such as handling correspondence and visitor insights, are also part of the responsibilities.
Being an ambassador for Wellcome, the candidate will engage an extensive audience through museum and library content and activities, working towards Wellcome Collection's mission to explore health through varied exhibitions and collections.
