The role

We're looking for a talented, experienced Visual Designer to join our Creative team. This role involves developing and delivering branded assets across diverse projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders. The designer will craft compelling visuals to help communicate our core technology's narratives and expand our visual brand, while assisting in leading design workstreams. This position requires the ability to work autonomously, execute at pace, and maintain a resilient, flexible mindset to thrive amidst the challenges of a fast-moving technology and research-driven organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the definition and evolution of the Google DeepMind visual identity, ensuring it aligns with our mission and the identity of our key models and research areas.
• Design and execute high-impact creative for a wide range of communications, including brand identity systems, go-to-market activities, and major research announcements.
• Transform complex technical concepts into compelling visual narratives for high-visibility projects across deepmind.google, social media, presentations, events, and more.
• Partner with our executive leadership to design high-impact keynote presentations that effectively communicate intricate ideas and elevate our presence at key events.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including researchers, engineers, product managers, and marketers) to align creative execution with business strategy and core messaging.
• Serve as a key creative point-of-contact for stakeholders during US timezones, ensuring partners are kept up-to-date as assets evolve during fast-paced launch cycles.
• Partner with external creative agencies and vendors to help scale our programs and creative output effectively.
• Propose and develop innovative and proactive design ideas for new projects and campaigns.
• Maintain an exceptional level of diligence and attention to detail.

About you

In order to set you up for success as at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

• Skilled and technically proficient visual designer with a working knowledge of the entire design process.
• Deep expertise of digital, graphic, and conceptual design.
• Create and maintain effective design documentation and style guides, planning for any ongoing and iterative improvements as required.
• Portfolio demonstrating the highest level of craft and visual excellence in every piece of work.
• Proven ability to ensure brand consistency and adherence to design best practices.
• Ability to support multiple, diverse visual design workstreams across the creative and marketing function, partnering with product marketers, producers, social, and content teams.
• Excellent communication skills - proven ability to keep internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners involved and informed about project progress and design iterations.
• Experience leading workstreams autonomously, with the ability to integrate feedback from your team and cross-functional partners.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $117,000 - $168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
