The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

VNI Schedule Manager

The Venues and Infrastructure (VNI) team plays a critical role in delivering Games-specific temporary infrastructure for competition and non-competition venues to ensure that they are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Sport and Games Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed, developed, and delivered with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion, while respecting the timeframes established with the venues for the LA28 exclusive use periods. 

Reporting to the Sr. Mgr., Scheduling, the Schedule Manager will prepare and manage venue-based scheduling for VNI. The Schedule Manager will own the venue integrated schedules (VIS), a consolidation of delivery schedules from multiple functional areas. The Schedule Manager will also oversee the development of construction schedule for VNI temporary infrastructure and overlay. This role will require deep collaboration across all delivery functional areas as well as external stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.

The successful candidate will have created and managed project schedules for complex infrastructure and/or events delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Venue Integrated Schedule (VIS) Management

  • Develop and manage the VIS for assigned venues, coordinating and consolidating the construction schedules from multiple functional areas
  • Partner with construction schedulers for VNI contractors and suppliers to incorporate into the VIS. Oversee and review contracted schedulers
  • Integrate the venue schedules into the program master schedule
  • Surface schedule and resource conflicts, report issues, and facilitate resolution activities
  • Prepare regular schedule status and health reports

Background & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a project scheduler
  • Experience with infrastructure projects and/or sport and events delivery
  • Expert knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project scheduling software
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, SharePoint and other collaboration platforms
  • Expert knowledge of critical path, forward and backward scheduling, resourcing loading, dependencies, and crashing
  • Adept at meetings facilitation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • The position Los Angeles HQ with in-person attendance required during planning period
  • Support and verify operational activity status based at the construction site during the delivery period
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Scheduling certifications desired
  • Project management desired

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
