Job Title: Washington Programs Coordinator Department: John Glenn | Academic The Washington Programs Coordinator will coordinate assigned graduate programs for the John Glenn College of Public Affairs in Washington, DC. These include the Master of Public Affairs – Washington DC (MPA-DC) and the Federal Policy & Management Minor/Certificate (FEDPM). Serves as program support for the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP). Responsibilities for each assigned program include recruitment, application process and selection, pre-departure preparation, internship placement, internship partner development, on-program support, and alumni engagement. The Washington Programs Coordinator provides professional development and internship placement for participants through individualized support and by cultivating strong relationships with internship hosts and alumni. Develops new internship partners, especially in national security agencies and firms; collaborates with partners on campus, including, but not limited to: a) Student Services to develop and execute annual recruitment strategies, scholarship allocation, and provide student support across programs; b) Advancement and Strategic Engagement to cultivate alumni connection, update alumni databases, and engage in development efforts for student scholarships; and c) Marketing and Strategic Communications to develop recruiting strategy, manage website, and social media, as needed. Provides primary support for alumni engagement with the alumni outreach committee, Young Alumni Club-DC activities, including stewardship, newsletter and communications, and other responsibilities as required. Serves as instructor of record for program course(s) as assigned. Performs administrative, programmatic, and fiscal activities for the Glenn College Washington, DC office as required. Represent the Glenn College at relevant internal and external meetings, engage in event planning, and performs other related duties as assigned. Essential Duties: Conducts planning and management of administrative, programmatic, and fiscal activities for the Washington, DC graduate programs of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Directs student program(s) as assigned including, but not limited to, the Master of Public Affairs – Washington DC (MPA-DC) and the Federal Policy & Management Minor/Certificate (FEDPM) for graduate students/mid-career professionals. This includes recruitment, application process, selection, pre-departure preparation and teaching, on-program support, internship partner development, internship placement, advising, housing, and alumni engagement. Collaborates with Student Services team to develop recruitment strategies, manage scholarship allocation decisions across assigned programs, and support students and resolve issues across assigned programs. Develops and serves as instructor of record for course(s) as assigned. Provides support to course development and experiential learning activities, such as professional development workshops and study tours. Manages internship placement process, including continuing education of DC internship/fellowship market, maintaining knowledge of the federal hiring market, developing relationships with prospective and current internship hosts, and supporting hosts each semester for assigned programs. Assures compliance with policies, procedures, and services in conjunction with Glenn College faculty, staff and lecturers. Responsible for student support and resolves issues as they arise. As assigned, responsible for social media, website, and other promotion activities in collaboration with the Glenn College Marketing and Strategic Communications team. Collaborates with Advancement & Strategic Engagement to cultivate alumni commitment and work with Development to increase scholarship funds for graduate students. Assists with the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP) undergraduate program, including recruitment, application process, selection, pre-departure preparation and teaching, on-program support, and alumni engagement, as needed by the Washington Programs Manager. Participates in alumni engagement, advancement and development activities in Washington, DC, alumni outreach committee and Young Alumni Club-DC activities, development activities for DC programs, including annual crowdfunding campaigns for scholarships, other stakeholders to establish student scholarships. Administrative duties, including providing travel support, requisitions, expense reporting, spend authorizations, logistics and room scheduling, and other operational duties as assigned by the Faculty Director and Washington Programs Manager Additional Information: Required Documents Resume and cover letter with salary requirements. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.35 to $27.88 to be determined by internal equity, budget, and the candidate's education and experience. The candidate selected for this role may be eligible to receive an additional 15% geographical differential indicator rate, which will be added to the base rate of pay outlined above. Additional Information: This position is primarily an in-person role in Washington DC with opportunities for hybrid work. It may also require occasional local and out-of-state travel, and working evenings and weekends, as necessary. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field with 2 years of relevant experience in student services, event management, volunteer management, project management, and related activities; excellent written and verbal communication skills Desired Qualifications Master's degree in Public Administration, Higher Education, or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
