Web Content Consultant - US Remote

Position Summary
RTSL is seeking a consultant with expertise in web content strategy, writing, and user experience (UX) to support high-priority digital projects through February 2026. The consultant will serve as the lead writer and strategist for RTSL’s Digital Annual Report (launching late January 2026) and provide targeted support for other web content needs.
This is a deliverables-based engagement designed to ensure compelling, accessible, and user-centered digital content. RTSL's Communications Director will serve as the Contract Manager for this consultancy.
Duration and Level of Effort
- Contract period: October 2025 – February 28, 2026.
- Approx. 25 hours/week, with higher workload in December–January for the annual report.
Scope of Work & Deliverables
- Digital Annual Report 2025
- Lead strategy and writing for RTSL’s digital annual report.
- Deliverable: Write concept note for 2025 digital annual report (using template provided by RTSL). Implement approved concept.
- Deliverable: Draft all content in collaboration with RTSL staff and subject matter experts and work with RTSL counterparts to facilitate reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Deliverable: Provide recommendations for format, content structure, visual elements and UX.
- Deliverable: Deliver web-ready, SEO-optimized, accessible content by pre-determined deadlines.
- Lead strategy and writing for RTSL’s digital annual report.
- Web Content Development (Oct 2025–Feb 2026)
- Draft and edit priority content updates for RTSL’s website (estimated 2–3 requests per month).
- Translate technical information into clear, compelling content for external audiences.
- Ensure all deliverables meet RTSL’s editorial, accessibility and SEO standards.
- In collaboration with the web team, update website with approved content.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in digital content strategy, editorial governance, and / or web management.
- Demonstrated ability to write compelling, plain-language content from technical subject matter.
- Strong understanding of UX, IA, SEO, and accessibility standards.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex digital projects.
- Familiarity with WordPress required.
