AMNC25 - Intern, Events Management

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

You will work closely with respective teams at the World Economic Forum Beijing Office to support the preparations for the Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC).

Duration and location

1 April – Early July; 4-5 days/week onsite at the Beijing office

Requirements

The Internship role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) and is usually undertaken during the penultimate year of study. While your major is not important, we are looking for candidates with an outstanding record of academic achievement, a can-do attitude and a desire to make an impact.

What to expect

Throughout the internship, you will have the unique opportunity to:

The intern will join the office for a three-month period during spring of 2025. You will work four to five days a week and receive a RMB 7500 monthly stipend if working on full- time.

Team Introduction

China Event Team acts as a focal point between the Forum and the host city governments overseeing AMNC event operations. This role offers an opportunity with a deep engagement in a world-class event via a journey from the event preparation, delivery and debriefing phase.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing event operations and logistics
  • Support various projects related to AMNC, such as attendants recruiting, training and assigning; sustainability project data collection; in-kind partner coordination
  • Assist in AMNC workforce registration
  • Facilitate staff visa paperwork and processing
  • Help event team to manage supplier contract and payment
  • Provide support for AMNC related events, i.e. Pre-meeting Conference and AMNC Beijing Office Ops Briefing
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from the Forum headquarters to AMNC host city authorities
  • Assist in drafting official correspondence, including thank-you letters and letters to the Government, etc
  • Coordinate internal meetings and record meeting minutes
  • Assist with event team administration and document translation & editing

Preferred Requirements and Experience

  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving, proactive, and service-oriented mindset
  • Effective communicator, able to engage and collaborate across teams and with stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and address key issues
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
