AMNC25 - Intern, Government Engagement

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

You will work closely with respective teams at the World Economic Forum Beijing Office to support the preparations for the Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC).

Duration and location

1 April – Early July; 4-5 days/week onsite at the Beijing office

Requirements

The Internship role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) and is usually undertaken during the penultimate year of study. While your major is not important, we are looking for candidates with an outstanding record of academic achievement, a can-do attitude and a desire to make an impact.

The intern will join the office for a three-month period during spring of 2025. You will work four to five days a week and receive a RMB 7500 monthly stipend if working on full- time.

Team Introduction

The Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG), Greater China plays crucial roles in engaging with high-level government officials and addresses critical issues related to regional development, international trade, and geopolitical dynamics. We are seeking a dedicated intern to support the day-to-day work of the local government engagement team under CRTG for the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025, including but not limited to logistics, data processing, research, translation and other administrative work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data entry and maintenance in the Forum’s data system
  • Role mapping for Chinese public figures, i.e. finding sessions that matches their priorities through research
  • Document translation (English-Mandarin and vice versa)
  • Support the team to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure milestones are met
  • Logistics support to government officials during meetings/sessions (badges, hotels, transportation, etc.)
  • Compiling documents and supporting material and drafting official request letters to respective government counterparts
  • Timely Follow-up with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of key information
  • Policy research on local government related matters.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Requirements and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a university program or recent graduate in a relevant field. Major in English Literature is preferred.
  • With integrity, authenticity, frank communication style, ability to pay attention to details and to provide direct feedback.
  • Previous internship experience in working with government officials is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin with proven records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
  • Abilit to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to do multitasks and to deliver under pressure
  • Writing skills of professional Chinese document
