Consultancy - Podcast Producer (Video and Audio)

Duration: 3-month fixed term contract, with a view to extend to a permanent contract

Background

The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) is an independent civil society organization, headquartered in Geneva Switzerland, with offices in Austria, South Africa, Colombia and Malta, and a globally dispersed Secretariat working in around 40 countries. GI-TOC comprises a network of more than 750 independent global and regional experts working on human rights, democracy, governance and development issues where organized crime has become increasingly pertinent. GI-TOC provides a platform to promote greater debate and innovative approaches as the building blocks to an inclusive global strategy against organized crime. GI-TOC commissions and shares research globally, curates a robust resource library of 2 000 reports and tools specific to organized crime and uses its convening power to unite both the private and public sectors against organized crime.

We are seeking a skilled podcast producer to work across outputs for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime and its YouTube channel: Organized Crime Dispatch.

This role is primarily focused on audio and video editing. You will be responsible for the editing of the GI-TOC's audio output, in addition to video editing support across our long-form and social video output.

The Role

You will work within the Multimedia department under the Head of Video and Podcasts. Outputs will include The Index, Mekong Matters, UN & Organized Crime Podcast, Underworlds with Mark Shaw, and audio editing support for Deep Dive: Exploring Organized Crime.

Main Responsibilities

• Audio and video podcasts and interview-based content
• Work from scripts and recorded interviews to shape clear, engaging narratives
• Turn around edits efficiently while maintaining quality
• Manage your workflow to avoid last-minute bottlenecks
  

Requisite skills and experience

• Fast, reliable editor who can work to deadlines
• Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite
• Individual who works independently and confidently from structured briefs
• Speaking multiple languages is a benefit, but not a necessity
