Overview

Resource Generation (RG) seeks a short-term consultant (June–November 2025) to provide administrative support and project management for the National Member Council (NMC), with a focus on strengthening internal communications, supporting culture-building, and preparing for a successful transition of responsibilities to staff and members.

The consultant will be critical in helping the NMC function smoothly, improving internal systems, and leaving a foundation for long-term sustainability.

Scope of Work

Administrative Support and Project Management (June–September)  Estimated to be Four Hours per Week

  • Ensure smooth operation of NMC administrative tasks: sending meeting notes, calendar invites, managing shared folders (Google Drive), supporting recruitment processes, and other logistical needs.

  • Support adherence to NMC decision-making and communication processes.

Internal Communication Support (June–September)

  • Support the NMC in communicating effectively with the broader membership base ("rank and file"), including drafting updates, managing internal marketing, and creating clear narratives about NMC’s role and activities.

Recruitment and Onboarding Support (June–September)

  • Help coordinate organized outreach to member bodies for recruitment efforts.

  • Support the onboarding process for new NMC representatives, ensuring they are well-integrated into systems and culture.

Transition and Handoff Support (October–November)

  • Identify clear tasks, timelines, and appropriate holders among staff and members for ongoing administrative needs.

  • Facilitate a smooth handoff of responsibilities by training and supporting new holders.

Final Recommendations (November)

  • Deliver a brief report outlining:
    • 1–3 recommended next steps for addressing ongoing administrative challenges for the NMC
    • 1–3 recommended next steps for addressing ongoing administrative challenges for RG organizing staff (if applicable)

Qualifications

  • Experience with administrative support, project management, and internal communications
  • Familiarity with democratic member-led structures and organizing culture
  • Ability to foster and support collaborative, joyful, and accountable cultures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to racial and economic justice

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with Resource Generation and our membership
  • Experience managing transitions
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills

Contract Terms

  • Duration: June–November 2025
  • Estimated Time: 2–4 hours per week (variable by phase)
  • Compensation: TBD not to exceed $8000 for total contract
  • This is a remote, contractor role
