Founded in 2014, Tiko is an African nonprofit organization that enhances the potential and fosters the resilience of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Sub-Saharan Africa by addressing the critical “Triple Threat”: early pregnancy, HIV, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Tiko has developed its own unique girl-centric technology platform to unite an ecosystem of existing, established partners to provide an environment enabling girls to choose when, where and how they meet their health and wellbeing needs. Leveraging this technology-enabled, community-driven approach, Tiko collaborates with local and national health systems to drive sustainable, transformative change. Tiko operates in seven countries including Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Zambia and Nigeria.

For this role, we are looking for applicants based in Kampala, Uganda; Abuja, Nigeria; Johannesburg, South Africa; or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia


The Job

We’re looking for a Director of Programme Analytics to lead the development of data-driven performance management across Tiko’s programme delivery. In this role, you’ll collaborate with programme and tech teams to refine dashboards, ensure data quality, and design frameworks for generating actionable insights that inform funders, governments, and Tiko’s ecosystem partners. You’ll also represent Tiko externally as a thought leader in programme data analysis while mentoring a global team of analysts.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a programme analysis framework aligned with Tiko’s strategy, Theory of Change, and country requirements.
  • Use Tiko platform data to generate insights that inform programme design, reporting, and improvement for multiple stakeholders.
  • Triangulate platform data with other sources to answer critical programme questions and track outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain programme data quality standards and lead internal data audits.
  • Train and mentor programme teams and ecosystem actors to build a culture of data quality and use.
  • Represent Tiko at convenings, funder engagements, and with government partners as a thought leader in programme data analysis.
  • Support fundraising and reporting by embedding impact analysis into proposals, donor reports, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of programme analysts, while managing budgets and external partners/contractors.


About you

You are a strategic thinker and data leader who thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights. You are highly skilled in quantitative analysis, experienced in mentoring teams, and passionate about using data to strengthen programme delivery in global health. You’re curious, collaborative, and motivated to drive impact for adolescent girls and young women.


Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Medical Sociology, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in global health, with 8 years in health analytics and data systems in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Demonstrated success leading data-driven performance initiatives in the public health sector.
  • Proven experience mentoring programme delivery teams to use data for decision-making.
  • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor insights to diverse audiences.
  • Significant experience working in multicultural environments and managing complexity.

The Rewards

At Tiko we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is R99,674 - R124,592 in South Africa, €6,094 - €7,618 in Ethiopia, ₦8,622,999 - ₦10,778,749 in Nigeria and UGX24,579,228 - UGX30,724,035 in Uganda, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
